Used this Autel scanner to diagnose a limp mode issue with a 2015 Lexus IS250. Scanner called out the misfire trouble code and using Live Data function I was able to see misfire counts rapidly incrementing on cyl 3. After doing the coil swap to cyl 1 it turned out to be a bad spark plug on cyl 3. After plug replaced, cleared codes and no issues since then. Also performed a scan on the cat converter temps to confirm no damage to the converters due to the misfire/limp mode episode. So this pretty much paid for the scanner on the first use! I really like the ease in checking for fault codes and seeing the live data on the large screen tablet. Response time is better than other cheap scanners I’ve used. The Special Functions will come in handy when modules need to be reset after disconnecting battery and ABS bleeding. If you need special functions, you should check with Autel to be sure it is supported. This scanner is great for a DIY as you don't currently have to pay subscription fee like other scanner apps.

This is truly a good scanner for the money! After trying many other scanners from snap on (solus, zeus, and apollo) and a couple from Launch, I can say confidently that this is the one i would buy overall. I can’t recommend this scanner enough! Its price is perfect and the subscription cost is low compared to the other brands (you get one year free subscription by the way). It’s also bi-directional which is great for testing certain modules and is a very powerful tool when you learn how to use it. This is a big step up from the $100-$200 scanners! If you are in the trade, i would recommend this over a snap on that is double the cost along with double the cost for subscription/update fee. Snap on scanners are waaaay to expensive for what they can accomplish compared to this new MP808. If you just want the best “bang for buck” scanner that will last and is cheap to keep up to date, THIS IS THE ONE!!!

I used this scanner to diagnose my 2009 Mini Cooper S. It's very easy to use and can pretty much do everything I wanted. I was very impressed with all its capabilities and functions for the price. Instead of paying the dealer $300 for a diagnostics scan, you can just invest in this product and check yourself. Even if you do go to a dealer/mechanic, you can still use the scanner to make sure they're not getting over on you adding things that you don't need fixed. I enjoy exploring all it's functions and learning more of what it can do.

After having used another brand of scanner for two years, it was either time to update or time to replace. Since the "brand x" scanner I was using shut down because I had not spent the money to update, it was just as economical to just buy new. I decided on the Autel MP808K and I am extremely pleased! I registered the product, updated and installed the software and it was ready to go! Also, the unit comes with another hard case with every type diagnostic connector you need in case a vehicle doesn't have the J1962 OBDII connector. Capable of diagnostics on cars across 4 continents, and if you don't update it after 1 year it will still work! Great tool for the investment!

This scanner is great and the features help me get my job done faster.

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 that needed the Turbo Actuator replaced. I used the Pre-Alignment/Calibration menu within the scan tool to perform the calibration procedure. I did not find very good instruction or procedural information within the AUTEL documentation, online information, or YouTube videos that clearly explained how to perform this installation and repair. First I used the Pre-Alignment menu to test the new actuator. The system would error out during this test but would not provide information as to why it was failing. I didn't of I had an actual problem with components or was I doing something wrong procedurally? I finally accessed the "Pre-alignment/Calibration" menu and was successful as the tool interfaced to align the new actuator, and then once the unit was placed onto the turbo, selected the Calibration step which then passed the test procedure. Bottom-line, I had to stumble through some of the functions and menus due minimal information, but was able perform the Active Interface successfully! Before starting the diagnostics, after registering the device, I downloaded multiple software updates for the scan tool and the specific vehicles I will be working on. Very please with the tool though sometimes cumbersome to work through, which is the case with any new tech item. The system also advised me of some inactive accent lights on my mirrors. Approach and puddle lights that I was not aware had burned out. Ordered lights for minimal cost and replaced. Very helpful!
