Excellent product
We have a cat that likes to jump up to the bird feeder and catch a bird. We also have a raccoon who comes every night and knocks the sunflower feeder off, so we have been looking for a taller feeder pole. This one is great. Looks good, easy to assemble, and easy to install. The base screwed into our half frozen clay soil easily. I’m 6’2” tall and I can’t hang the feeders without a step. While this may be a problem for some, it is what we wanted. It is yet to be seen if the cat can jump that high, but I don’t think so. It didn’t stop the raccoon, but I added a squirrel shield and, so far, that seems to have done the trick. Highly recommend.

Best Bird Feeder System Ever
I have had two of these pole feeders now for almost 2 months. I got the Audubon Torpedo squirrel be gone for both feeders. This product is really well made and will last for a long time without rust or any type of weathering damage. The 3 foot screw in base is well designed and will keep the interlocking rods straight and sturdy in even slightly less compacted soil. In turf it will be a challenge to screw it all the way in but once in, the feeder will not move even with three bird feeders hanging from it. It goes together seamlessly. It is very tall, as in 7 feet if you use all the parts. This works great for where I wanted them and I can easily reach the bottom of the feeders to pull them down and fill them. With all the decorative parts and the invincible Audubon squirrel head banger, they are really a stunning addition to the garden. I would highly recommend this product over anything I have ever owned and I have had many and fed the backyard birds for years. Although the Audubon squirrel block is a bit pricey, it will last forever and it is hilarious to watch the squirrels try to get up the pole, ending up inside the container, coming out looking very perplexed. Since I have had these feeder poles the squirrels have to eat what the birds drop. I have tried the cone style and they do not hold up well and fall apart after a few seasons. This is really turbo charged keeping the squirrels on the ground. It does not disappoint. Finally after years of replacing both the feeders and the feeder units I have found a complete system that should last a long time. I challenge any raccoon to get to the feeders. Won't happen.I also have 6 "Squirrel Solutions Seed Saver 200 Wild Bird Feeder". These are the best bird feeders I have ever had. I would like to say they are squirrel proof as advertised but unless you have a really good block on the pole like the Audubon head bonker the squirrels will get up to the feeders like any other feeder system and trash them. I had only one for a few days to look out to a commotion in the feeder only to see a squirrel head first in the whole feeder! The company wanted a picture but really I was too busy laughing and trying to get the squirrel out for any photo shoots. Once I put these feeders on the new pole system with the Audubon torpedo the squirrel have never breached this barrier yet. However, if you place the system to close to a tree or deck, squirrels can still leap a great distance so these need to be at least 6 feet out.Yes there is a con to this whole thing. Placed in the right habitat and without the interference from the squirrels, there is something about these feeders that the birds really like. The little perches they stand on are wrapped in decorative plastic like material so in the heat of the summer or cold of winter their feet do not burn or stick. I have found that with this feeder I am refilling it about every 3-4 days which could mean a future part time job if I want to keep my favorite backyard entertainment (the birds and their babies) going with 6 of these feeders!

Strong design and tall bird feeder hanger
I have a deck with shrubs along side that stick up. I needed a hanger for bird feeders that would allow hanging the feeders that hang down from handle above the shrubs with clearance. I measured and given our deck height and shrub height I needed the hang point at 92" from ground. This one was described to be exactly that. However the price was high at $100. Yikes, $100 for a bird feeder hanger?? It's just hollow set of tubes you insert end to end and some nice steel work up top and bottom for the hang arms and cork-screw bottom end. The design is nice, and looks very nice. When I got it, it was not 92" to the hang point but more like 84". This would have been a return item as that would not work. But I called the company and they offered to send me another tube extension after I complained their description was not accurate. It came about a week later and it added about 1 ft more height. Now it's the perfect height and works well. Due to the tubes sticking end to end they are solid but can tilt shift slightly given the play in the tube insertion tightness. It is adequate and will not be a problem but is not as rigid as a single solid pole but that would be problematic for shipping containers. So all in all I am very happy with what I got once they sent the additional tube. It should have been in the box to begin with. Just wish the price was more like $50-60 not $100!

Look no further!
If you want a heavy duty, sturdy, and TALL pole for bird feeders or plants, look no further. This pole weighs at least twice (maybe thrice) as much as my old hanging pole, and is MUCH sturdier and nicer looking. The auger anchors this VERY securely in the ground (dense clay soil in my area). The only downside is that I may need a stool or short ladder to hang some of my bird feeders now. But if you wanted a shorter pole, you could either remove or cut one of the three main sections of the pole.

Attractive, but a balancing act -
I am glad to have found this extra tall hanger. The birds are tentative about visiting the average hangers (which places the bird feeders too close to the ground, in reach of cats and dogs). The height is a bit of a problem for me as I am 5’4” and can barely reach to remove or replace bird feeders. However, the section containing the arms swivels, so I placed a decorative rock near the base of the pole. Standing on the rock and spinning the arms to reach the various feeders works perfectly. I gave the hanger 4 stars as I wish the arms were a bit longer to give more space between the bird feeders (some bird species are more territorial than others), and if the pole sections themselves were thicker, the pole itself would be sturdier. I have 2 smaller feeders and 2 larger ones in use, and set each opposite the other. However, if one of the larger feeders empties more than the other, the balance gets skewed and the pole leans off center. Therefore, I feel it’s a bit pricey for what you get, but it is attractive in the garden.

Very nice and sturdy pole.
It is attractive and sturdy . I have my bird feeder, hummingbird feeder and a nice plant to attract the hummingbirds on this pole.
