Great product

I have been brought buying this brand of great value classic roast medium coffee in the value size for many years. I like my coffee to be rich and flavorful but not acidic strong. If I start with cold water and my percolator and remove the grounds when it is finished perking, The percolator will keep the coffee warm for at least three hours while I slowly work at it. After that I unplug it the percolator and top off my cups of coffee warming them in the microwave. Every time a good cup, have used half-and-half with it, a smoother flavor.

The coffee bean use in Great Value Classic Roast is "Robusta" (as opposed to the much more common- and expensive - "Arabica". Robusta has nearly twice the caffeine than Arabica but tastes twice as bitter. It can work well for "cold brew" coffee (where you steep at room temp for 18 or so hours) but even then it's pretty rough. Those who are sensitive to caffeine should avoid. Those who crave the caffeine punch (and it is no joke- 265mg of caffeine per 8oz of brewed coffee) must deal with the terrible taste. Italians (who are stereotypically coffee connoisseurs) use robusta for espresso....so- bitterness has it's fans.
