Very useful if you want to hide your equipment
Went with the larger size and oh boy I didn’t regret it. Mounted my modem, 16 port network switch , and Wi-Fi route. Mounted it on a piece plywood in the basement. Most of my equipment didn’t line up with the holes but was able to drill my own holes and use wood screws to hold them in place.

Great Media Panel
Great product! The perfect size I require when I could not get it at the supply house.

A great box, but the accessories are a bit pricey
First things first, the box itself -- it works great. It fit directly in between my studs as it was designed. I ran an outlet into it from an existing outlet with no problem (you don't need any specific leviton hardware for that). I popped out the holes in the top and ran conduit from the box all the way to the attic to make running future cables easier. My main complaint about the box is that by default, it only has the option to come with lid that isn't near as easy to use as a door. It should have the option to come with a door. I opted for the 28" ventilated door as a separate purchase and I would recommend that if you plan on filling the box up quite a bit. I'm running a very small mini-PC server, router, switch, cable modem, and security camera NVR, so I wanted plenty of ventilation. So that's the enclosure itself. Now let's talk accessories. I'm going to talk about a few accessories I bought here and how well they worked.First off, the "Plastic Universal Shelf Bracket" -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V5WXFNK/I'm running two of these in my enclosure, one for the modem, and one for my google wifi puck. It attaches easily and can be mounted upside down if you'd like with no problems. Overall pretty useful. Plenty of holes and slots around it if you'd like to strap down your electronics or run cables through them.Second, the "Data Plastic Bracket" -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007SN5E8/I'm running two of these with another one on the way. They're the most expensive of the mounting accessories I've found but they are the most useful. They can be mounted horizontally or vertically on either side of the enclosure. There are mounting holes in them but I opted for velcro strapping all my items to them for simplicity. Overall very useful.Lastly, the "Multimedia Bracket" -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018MPQVM/Since these are so much cheaper I had hoped to use this as a makeshift shelf instead of the other accessories, but while the shelf itself is quite solid, the three push pins holding it up make it extremely flimsy. I wouldn't trust it holding any of my electronics. Now if you're using it for it's intended purpose I'm sure it's fine, but I personally wouldn't use it as a shelf.I'm currently mid-remodel on my office and if you get a chance I'd highly recommend getting this (or a similar media enclosure) to keep your modem/router/etc in. It's a polished look and it's nice to have everything out of sight out of mind. I will say that leviton is quite proud of their items and I feel the accessories especially are overpriced (which is why I only gave it 4 stars)

Perfect network cabinet
I have used several of these SMC cabinets around the house for different networking applications. They are sturdy powder coated steel, and super easy to install following the paper instructions or online video. I have used both the flush screw on cover that comes with the combo, as well as the premium vented cover. Both work perfect depending on your needs.Attached photos are of the 28" version. For mounting components, I prefer a combination of zipties, velcro strips, and 3M VHB or similar double sided tape. This is cheaper than using the leviton mounts, and I think better because you can put things exactly where you need them. For my needs, I also have no use for the expensive leviton branded components.I use a cyber power 750VA SL750U UPS and surge protector, which has more capacity at 1/3 the cost of the tripp lite AV550S (the only UPS that is actually marketed to this application).

Nice large structured wiring enclosure for those who need "wife approval"
After doing a lot of searching for the best structured wiring hub/enclosure, I settled on the Leviton due to its ubiquity and number of accessories available. The components are available from many sources which is nice, but they are also quite pricey so I will be making some custom brackets and mounting most of my own hardware in it unless I have problem fitting something in.The box and lid itself seem to be of acceptable quality/thickness, though I would definitely prefer a heavier gauge steel or even aluminum. The fit and finish seem good enough, and the lid is attractive enough to pass the 'wife test'. 42" sounds and looks pretty large, but it will fill up quite fast once I start adding switches, routers, modems, patch boards, backup battery, cables, etc. I definitely recommend going as big as you can fit to allow you to add components in the future if need be.There are plenty of knockouts for conduit/fittings and should have no problem with routing through any of the 4 sides. Comes with mounting screws for wood studs and screws for the included cover. Cover itself is has keyholes in the top mounting holes to make installation and removal easy (nice when having to get in and out of the box regularly). In the long run, the expansion/extender frame and door upgrade will probably be worth it to allow more working depth, but for getting my project started, this box + cover were the right price, and Prime delivery got it to my door right away.Docking one star simply because the material the box is made out of seem a little thinner than it should be, and some of the edges are pretty sharp on the one I received. The lid itself is a little flimsy due to size, but should do the job and keep prying fingers of kids/pets at bay with no problem. Packaging and shipment were both acceptable, and there was no damage on arrival. In summary, I would have no problem buying a Cable Vision, Legrand or On-Q (which i think is made by Leviton too) box if it were a better deal and component availability wasn't an issue to me (for those planning on using their own hardware), but Leviton is a decent value overall if you consider the local availability of components important.

received a replacement for damaged enclosure, replacement was damaged also
This leviton media enclosure was damaged before it was boxed. Bottom right corner. I received a replacement and it was also damaged in the same place but was not as bad so I could repair it. QC should be dialed up a bit to avoid shipping defective enclosures.

Heavy Duty and Well Made
For those of you wanting to pull the trigger on an SMC cabinet - this one maybe expensive - however it is powder-coated steel and very well made. I am very satisfied with the purchase and it will pair up nicely with my 42" Leviton load center panel.

This is a great quality Structured Media Panel
This is a great quality Structured Media Panel. There’s plenty of room for most of your Structured Wiring and associated equipment. I wouldn’t recommend placing a wireless (wifi) router in this can, as it’s metal and could wreak havoc with the signal.Fast shipping, arrived in perfect shape. Thanks Amazon!

Nice enclosure
Very good media enclosure. All metal construction with different mounting options. If you put a WiFi modem it will cut down you signal.
