I had 35w hid in the stock housing and output sucked but after putting them in this the road is ...
So i must say this is a night and day difference from the oem headlights.I had 35w hid in the stock housing and output sucked but after putting them in this the road is really brighten up in all the right places with a nice clean cut off. I know come here have had issue with shaking lights but maybe im just lucky but I did not have any of the major problems that were said. There is some shake when you hit pot holes but you really have to look for it or else its not noticeable. I feel people are seeing this because they have a clean cutoff so compare to the oem lights you now notice this. Overall rutting this with 35w hid it has been a great upgrade to the oem set up and it was worth the cost. Also for you to know this was installed on a 05 tahoe.

VERY LOOSE ON 00-06 GM MOUNTING POSTS
It's a shame. These are really nice headlight assemblies. Well built and one of the only "Projector" style headlight assemblies that you can buy for a 00-06 GM. Unfortunately, once mounted to the posts they are able to move up and down 1" to 1.5" and they will shake when going over a rough road or trail. I had read quite a few other reviews about this but, there were many that didn't complain about it so, I thought maybe it was just their trucks/SUV's that caused it. Some buyers fixed it by pushing a ping pong ball in to brace them but, I'll pass on that action. I'm sending them back. What a bummer!

Should've switched sooner!
These housings are well built and fit perfectly in my 03 Tahoe. No jiggle or wobbles. I paired them with LED headlights and high beams. It could be too bright of bulbs, but the beam projected for low beams looks like a division symbol _/°°°° on the road. Not a big deal but it is a bit odd. High beams on the other hand are phenomenal!!! The picture shown for this add is junk, but they are very nice looking in person and come well packaged.

Good quality set, needs a little bit of work detailed below to get them perfect :)
Ok, so I've been waiting a while to post a review of these because I wanted to try them out for a while.I got these because I wanted to put HID's into my truck but didn't want to be "that guy" who puts them into reflectors and blinds everybody.Let me start out by saying that I originally ordered a pair of Kensun 55W 5K HID's to put in them, but I had to take them out after about 2 days because 55W Kensun HID's **WILL MELT** the lenses on these. I don't fault the company for this because they do not make them for HID's, but there are several people here who said they put 55W's in and so I tried it, and I'm here to say you shouldn't.That being said the 35W Kensun HID's work really well. The biggest issue with these, and it's not as much of a quality issue as people will say, but you can see the lights "bouncing" a bit with these because the fit isn't as tight as the OEM lights. After a few months of use, I believe that the issue is a combination of the weaker plastic subframe along with the fact that it is a projector with a beam cutoff, and all of us who were used to a nice diffused reflector pattern now see this line going across, and it's going to move up and down. Now that being said. I have drastically mitigated the unwanted "bounce" and I'll tell you how a little later. So as I said, I put these in because I wanted a projector that I could put HID's in, if you want to get these and put an incandescent in, I guess you can, but don't really understand why you would want to, as the cut off is going to limit your output and you're going to wind up with less light afterwards than you already have.So now I'll get into what I've learned and how I've coped with it while using these. I've learned that HID's are great lights, but they don't turn on and off like other technologies, they "ignite" and they heat up to full output, which can take several seconds. Since it doesn't take very long for them to cool off, having 2 separate bulbs for high and low beams is not a good solution for HID bulbs, which is why new cars with HID's have a single bulb in what is called a bi-xenon configuration which moves a shutter up and down exposing more light when the high beams are on.Since Tahoe's have separate bulbs, and I knew about the ignition going into this, I opted for HID low beams and the brightest LED high beams that I could find. Now LED's are great for high beams, because they turn on instantly at full brightness, and they produce an awful lot of light, but they do not project as far downrange as either HID or incandescent. (I've tried LED low beams before and they didn't work out because you just couldn't see down the road far enough). So the problem that I had which I wasn't expecting is that the low beams were good, and I would switch on the high beams and it was mostly good (very bright, but not super far), but the real issue was switching back to the low beams...Going from high beams to low beam HID's is problematic because your HID's have now cooled off and it can take 5-10 seconds before they heat up again. So you've gone from super bright LED's to very dim HID's, and since you've probably turned them off because a car is coming, you also have somebody else's super bright LED's in a reflector housing blinding you, so essentially you're blind now until the HID's heat up.What I did to solve this problem was to rewire my lighting system. I highly recommend that if you have the skills and want to do a project like this, you do the same thing. I basically wired a relay which uses the high beam power as the trigger and feeds power to the low beam circuit whenever the high beams are on, so essentially, the low beams stay on all the time whether the high or low beams are selected. So my high beams now have super bright LED flood coverage combined with the long range HID projector coverage, best of both worlds. It really gets the job done at night on dark country roads. As to my earlier stated, and very common complaint issue with these lights, when rewired the power and put some extra power feeds in there for the low beams, I wire tied the connections around a piece of metal that the light brackets come into contact with, so the wire ties / wiring are actually providing stiffening support to the light mounts and the "bounce" is all but eliminated. You still of course see the cutoff line moving up and down when you go over bumps, but the extra bouncing is pretty much gone.Overall I am very happy with my lights and end solution, I just wish everybody who tried to put in brighter bulbs would shell out the money and get projectors so that they don't blind everybody..

Shaky lights
STAY AWAY. UNSAFE. The lights look good but they are EXTREMELY wiggly when driving. The projector beam only serves to highlight this problem. I have tried to wedge things behind them to make them more stable but it is really not very helpful (not to mention... Why should I have to do this?). Also, I cannot adjust these well enough to get adequate distance. The old assemblies are rock solid but they are faded. I would not buy these again. Horrible.

Still working great!!
Still working great!!! I purchased these back in 2013 for my 2003 Tahoe. I initially ran DDM Tuning 35W 5000K HID 9006 bulbs in the low beams and used the included high beam bulbs. Great output from the HIDs and decent high beam bulbs. Then I upgraded the high beam 9005 bulbs to Philips HIR 9011 bulbs. I cut the tabs to fit and boom, even more light output on the high beams. I then later on upgraded my 35W ballasts to 55W ballasts same bulbs and still working great. I also installed a diode in the fusebox between my low beam and high-beam factory relays so that the lows stay on when I turn on the high-beams, boom 4HI mod. Nice. Recently, I have updraded the Philips HIR halogen bulbs to VPlus U Series 9005 LED bulbs and wow, these headlights light up the night!!!! Now I want to upgrade the 9006 HID bulbs to similar VPlus U Series LED bulbs since they color is different between my current DDM HID bulbs and my LED bulbs. They do tend to have a bit of wiggle when going over bumpy roads since the plastic isn't as strong as factory headlights but its fine. It doesn't bother me that much and I drive my truck to work every night. These housings will provide excellent light that along with upgraded lighting technologies such as HID or LED, will keep you safe on the road and you won't be blinding drivers with massive amounts of glare when driving with just your low-beams on. Thanks.BASICALLY, IF YOU DRIVE A GM PRODUCT THAT THESE LIGHTS WILL FIT, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.Vplus U Series LED Headlight Bulbs - 9005 HB3 80W 8,000LM 6500K White COB All in one No ballast LED Headlamp Conversion Replace HID & Halogen- (2pcs/set)
