I used this for a wedding, and put 150 cupcakes on it, with a 9" round 3-layer cake on top. I think it was plenty sturdy, but to provide even more stability, I used the little stabilizers they provide with the set (they are placed underneath the bottom tier). I would highly recommend spray painting the entire thing so it can be reused. I spray painted mine silver and used a clear coat spray (it took about 4 cans of spray paint, because the cardboard absorbs the color so easily, so several layers of paint were necessary), and I will definitely be able to use it again. Finally, to add some color and flair (and to hide the ugly cardboard edges), I used a hot glue gun to glue ribbon around all the edges. I'd say that this was a good value for the money, even if you're only going to use it once. It holds a TON of cupcakes (150 looked like nothing on it... I used fake flowers for space filler... it probably would fit around 250 perfectly) and once decorated, it looks lovely.

This stand was MUCH larger than my husband and I thought it'd be - we used it for our wedding last year - but that was just fine! We had about 200 standard-sized cupcakes and this stand housed them all perfectly. When you receive it, it's just plain white cardboard, so decorating is a must, which my bridesmaids were very happy to do. With some items from your local arts and crafts store, you can make this look REALLY pretty, as well as customize exactly the way you'd like. It's incredible sturdy and assembly takes about 20 minutes. We threw this out after the wedding (just because we had no other use for it), but this can definitely be disassembled and stored for reuse.If ever we need another cupcake stand, we'll certainly get this one again!

This is a really clever item. Yes, it seems like it's "just cardboard", but it's well engineered, and super easy to assemble. I bought it for a birthday party, and didn't have a lot of time to decorate like some people described (I bought a can of spray paint for it, but didn't have time to paint it) so I just used pins to wrap some ribbon around the raw corrugated edges of the tiers, and it came out really nice. Made for a really impressive display, and plenty sturdy (although I did not use the round tubes on the bottom, and just set the largest layer on the table). I was able to disassemble it and store it for another use, but I'm not sure when I'll ever need to serve 150 cupcakes again.

I bought this product for a wedding stand I did last year. There was a 10" cake on the top tier and 200 cupcakes on the tiers below. It was definitely strong enough to hold all of that without being wobbily (which gave myself and the bride great comfort!). With that being said, I think this is a great product IF you cover the layers in some sort of paper. I had silver paper that I used to cover the entire thing but it was a little difficult and definitely time consuming. There are so many pieces that are used to put this together that it takes awhile to cover each individual piece. If you don't cover it I personally think it does not look good, considering they are just card board pieces. However, as long as you cover it first it will look great! Especially since there are so many color options you can choose from. Just make sure that you factor in that extra cost with the product.I thought the price was almost too good to be true for this product. It was by far the best price I found for the amount that it could hold. I have had this product for about a year and I still use it pretty often. It still looks and acts the same as when I first bought it so that is a major plus in my books!

cheap looking and cost alot

This cupcake stand was fine for being made of cardboard, but considering this I thought the price was a bit much for something that you are able to use one time & throw away. The problem with this is - 0 other options. Oh well, it worked for the function we needed, but $40 is a lot to spend on a item that will be thrown away at the end of the night. Not to mention we had to spray paint it and attach ribbon on the outside edge to make it presentable. Good luck to those who purchase.

I bought this for my daughter's wedding. It arrived on time, was easy to put together, but lets face it, it needed some decoration to make it look less like a cardboard tier.My only complaint is the price! The value of this product when we bought it was less than desirable, It's CARDBOARD for crying out loud, we shouldn't have to pay so much for cardboard.

This cupcake stand saved my life! Super sturdy and easy to set up. Had a going away party for my daughter who will be attending fashion design school in New York in the fall. Wanted something that could hold the weight one of her dress forms. This stand did the trick! I am not as crafty as Pinterest would make me want to believe so I didn't want to have to build anything myself. it comes with reinforcing supports but I bought a couple 4 inch PVC pipe rounds just to be sure ($2 each) since the dress form is so heavy. It was the hit of the party. This inexpensive, versatile, sturdy stand came through!!!
