Carson & Milly are the couple you need!!
Carson Stone had it all planned out. He was going to get drafted with two of his best friends to play in the MLB, and he was going to have it all. Until a teammate injured him in practice and took him out for the season. Now Carson is back from the injury and struggling to find his groove again. This year is his last chance to get drafted, and he will do anything to make it happen.Milly Potter knows baseball, she loves it, she breathes it, and she is closer to baseball than some people think. She loves baseball so much she coaches, and she goes to every home baseball game at Brentwood. She knows all about Carson Stone. She knows about the injury and she’s watched him struggle to find his groove. After a few chance encounters, Milly calls him out and tells him she can help him. From that moment on, nothing will be the same for either of them.I’m saying it right now, this is the absolute BEST book I think I have ever read from Meghan Quinn, and I love every book she writes. ‘The Dugout’ though, this book just hit me right in the feels. I don’t know that I have ever laughed out loud so much while reading. I was crying at some points I was laughing so hard. But this book was so much more than just laugh out loud moments, there was romance, there was heartbreak, there were sad tears. Every single emotion was evoked while reading. I read this book entirely too fast, but I have zero regrets. Meghan Quinn is the best when it comes to laugh out loud romance and swoony characters. I will also say the banter between all of the characters, not just between Carson and Milly was off the charts hilarious. Trust me, this is a must read!

So good, but grab the tissues!
4.5 Stars. Ah Megan Quinn, seriously I did not learn my lesson! After the Locker Room and the huge time gap that just destroys you I thought no way will she do that to us again! But I was wrong. Seriously, the first 3/4 of the book are amazing. I didn’t see the punch coming, I knew it would, but just like with Knox I was devastated. Fair warning-if you’re a crier you will need a box of Kleenex.Slight spoiler alert...So definitely not as hard as the locker room, but man this story is full of emotion. I loved Milly. I loved Carson. I really loved the extra characters, it’s got such a great story. But for him to take so much extra time (even though he explains it and it works) it just kills you! Poor Milly. And he’s lucky someone didn’t come snatch her up and at least try to make her forget. And I need more epilogue. If you destroy the readers like this, give us the happy happy happy ending! The future of him proving it over and over. I want to believe that he could never hurt her again.Overall good read, but super emotional, on so many levels. I love the characters and the story is well written. It’s worth the read, but more happiness in the end please!

My most favorite Brentwood Boys story!
The first time I read this book, I fell in love with Carson right away and adored Milly the moment she started schooling Carson. She was so hot. I mean, her vast knowledge in the sport is so damn sexy. I seriously have a 'girl crush' on her. Yeah, she's awkward, but I love her overall personality. I would certainly be friends with her.I really love Carson as a hero. He is like my ideal guy. Funny, smart, athletic, talented, sexy, and those baby blue eyes... gosh, I am so in love. He is also very attentive to Milly. He listens to her and observes her behavior. Those are great boyfriend qualities (I am speaking from experience here) lol. The fact that he encourages and supports her is so swoony.I read the stories of the other guys too in this series (Knox, Jason, Cory, and Maddox, Lincoln, Holt, and Walker). I must admit I fell for them too, but I always come back to Carson. I guess it's because he is with Milly that makes me love this book so much. It's not only because of the hero but also because of the heroine. Milly is absolutely my top favorite heroine of Meghan Quinn's books.I also love the fact that I see more of them in the other books. Milly and Carson will always have a special place in my heart. I am so invested in them. They are perfect together. It's really a delight to share the same interests and passion with your lover.I didn't write a review the first time I read this, but after a third time, I gotta have to. It's one way for me to express how much I love this book to Meghan Quinn.

I loved it until I didn’t.
Man, carson was funny and charming and romantic. He was everything Millie needed. They had me laughing out loud and smiling to myself. Then everything happened. He was awful and I wondered what had happened to our wonderful Carson. He comes back and asks for forgiveness. Idk, I guess personally I don’t think he was worth it in the end. If it was that easy to let her go and ignore her does he really love her. It took his teammate to make him see reason and even then he took a while to come for Millie. I think Millie deserved better. Anyways that was my personal opinion the book was great until the great fallout!

amazing but…
When I first read books by Meghan (the Cane brothers series) I was totally hooked. I love her writing and the banter is top notch. But these baseball standalones have given me too much anxiety. I understand the use of small time jumps (a week or 2, MAYbe a month) to make the story flow better. But these books have some of the most ridiculous and painful time jumps. 8 years, 6 years, 2 years…I started to dread picking up this series because I knew it would break my heart. Unfortunately, I can’t even finish the baseball books. Like I said, the writing and even the storyline (up until the time jumps) are great. But that’s too much time and too painful for a romance novel in my opinion.

Loved It
This was one beautiful emotional romantic story. The story of two people not only falling in love but are soulmates.
