Kassel 13" Diameter Globe with 57pc Chess and Checkers Set

This was bought as a gift for my husband! The globe has such wonderful details! The zodiac signs are represented on the globe as well. This is a great conversation piece. My husband definitely didn't expect all of this out of a chess set. This was the best surprise!

Checker/Chess board squares too small for my Chess pieces. Looks very nice and waseasy to put together.

My only complaint is that the board is a bit small and the pieces are small and very similar in design. For instance, the queen and bishops look almost identical. The globe itself is beautiful. However the height is odd also. It's too tall to play on a table and much too low to play with it on the floor. Can never get quite comfortable.

Just what I was looking for. The chess set itself was junk but I had a antique wood set that looks amazing. Happy with purchase.

I bought this as a gift for my son. He absolutely loves it. It’s a beautiful piece and the nautical map has an old world masculine look. It’s gorgeous as a piece of decorative furniture. The chess pieces and checkers pieces can be stored inside and are easy to get out. They look like carved wood and although they are lightweight they don’t look cheap or toy-like.

Absolutely love it. Beautiful art work and very easy to assemble.HOWEVER. When my husband and I opened it parts were broken. The bottom part of the globe is cracked, and the zodiac ring is cracked. I was very disappointed. It was a Christmas gift for my husband and once I saw that it was broken I was very disappointed. However he still put it together and when all the pieces are together it doesn't look too bad. And he still loved it! That's all that matters tho, right.

Gorgeous illustrations inside and out, this is not a child resistant product… keep it it up and out of the way.. does not mesh well with children, cats, heavy smoke, or drunken visitors. It is stunning

it's really small. the pictures of it are misleading to its size. Also the globe is fixed, it does not turn. the whole thing comes off as a child's toy due to its actual scale. it's too low to use sitting in a normal chair. in the end it's just a decoration piece and nothing actually functional.
