Does what it is supposed to do.
The spring on this item is VERY strong. I would go so far as to say that it would be nearly impossible to install this retaining ring without using an expansion tool. I imagine this is why the bag containing the product was torn open- someone tried and failed to install it. This tool was priced right and worked perfectly for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0839198K4. As some have mentioned, wiping a little liquid soap on the wire can make it easier to install. Trying to install without the tool will likely be quite frustrating, so consider what your time is worth. I didn't have any problems with the wire bending while I (carefully) expanded it. Installing this retainer will end the annoyance of the door seal boot falling into the washer when one crams in a big load of clothes.

Exact fit as described for LG make and model
While the product was as described and the end result was a snug and perfect fit, it was a bear to get on. But with a little ingenuity and extra tools, was able to get it on in under 30 minutes. Match was Spot on.

Cheap metal compared to OEM part
As some other reviews mention, the ring and spring are constructed out of lower quality metal compared to the OEM part. When using the expansion tool, the pressure from the tool bends the end of the ring which causes the closed end of the ring to open making the expansion tool not work properly. I tried to crimp the ends closed, but the pressure still opens the ends. I ended up using the original rings and they went on with no issue. I had bought two rings, which are no longer returnable so it was a waste of money.

It was easy to install, did the job and fairly priced.
