Alien Isolation (PS4)

Great game and speedy delivery

Scary, you betcha! Bought as a gift for someone who didnt believe a computer game could be that scary. A must for all 'Alien' fans, captures the atmosphere of the 1st movies perfectly, and a challenge for general survival horror fans too. And when you finish it go and look at the completion stats to see how many people started but didnt/couldnt. Best played in low light with surround sound (with noise sensitivity on and a mic headset as the alien reacts to noises you make outside of the game, and you will make noises) with a cat skulking around. Not built on jump scares (though there are a few well place strategic scares) and not particularly gory or gruesome, its just terrifying!!! Nerve shreddingly terrifying. This is the 1st and only game I have ever reviewed and I though only discovered it in 2019 its a 2014 release. Nice game for 2014, even looks too good for the day. A much underrated classic, but def not for the weak hearted.

Exactly what you want from a horror game, to be so scared that you spend an embarrassing amount of time hiding instead of trying to progress. The atmosphere and attention to detail here is top-notch, I really felt like I was living the experience, not just playing game. It was tense from the start and does a good job keeping you guessing when the Alien is going to make it's first appearance, but to be fair as terrifying as it was the times when I did encounter the Alien, I did not have as much trouble avoiding it as I did the humans/androids. If you want a game that is all about the fear factor I highly recommend playing this, will keep you on your toes...and maybe in those hiding spots longer than you'd like!

fantastic but stressful

The graphics on this game do look a little dated, but don’t let that stop you. It’s a very tense, atmospheric game. This is probably made more so having grown up with the Alien movies! I’m not too far into the game and so I haven’t really had too many encounters with the creature. Also I am pretty crap at these games, but enjoy them anyway (thank goodness for online walkthroughs!!)😁

Das Spiel erzählt die Geschichte Zwischen den beiden ersten Filmen Alien und Aliens (Ridley Scott). Hauptperson ist Ellen Ripleys Tochter Amanda, die einer Spur nachgeht, die das Verschwinden ihrer Mutter erklären könnte. Das Spiel selber gestaltet sich als klassisches Ego-Horror-Spiel. Man erkundet die Raumstation Sevastopol, während Gegner in den Gängen und Raumschächten lauern. Ich mag die Alien Filme und das Spiel hat meiner Ansicht nach, das Feeling super eingefangen.

voila un jeu qui date de 10 ans, et qui ma fait passé des moment superbe, Jai longtemps hésiter avant de l acheter, vue qu' il n est pas tous jeune, mais sincèrement le graphismes est top, il y a beaucoup de détails, le vaisseau et très bien réaliser et l intrigue est bien aussi, Jai pu revivre en directe la découvertes de œufs, tel que dans le film, Jai 50 ans et je joue a énormément de jeux diffèrent, mais celui la restera gravé, parmi mes meilleur jeux, Si vous hésiter lancer vous, vous ne serais pas déçu, et de plus tout est en Français.

I’ve played this game probably 6+ times at this point. It nails the iconic imagery and tone of the first Alien film. The pacing is great. The various enemies feel terrifying for different reasons. The tools are useful in a variety ways because in most horror games you don’t usually get any sort of combat mechanic. At least not one this malleable. Alien Isolation nails it though, it’s not always something you should do but is great for a lil boost of player empowerment. The potential strategies for tackling this game is what really keeps me coming back.
