Venum Challenger Standup Shinguards

These guards gave me a crazy chemical burn and rash that required steroid shots to get rid of. I've never had a problem with any other venum products, but these things are manufactured with some nasty chemical somewhere. I've read that some other people have had the same problem with these guards. If you buy these, only wear them for 15 min or so the first go, and see if your skin gets irritated. I wore them sparring for an hour and now I can't even put on shoes.

These shin guards fit well and don't move around, offer good protection and are light. I use them for Krav Maga and Sparology classes. I can also say that I've compliments on them as nobody has this style in my studio.I first ordered Medium and they were too small but after I return them I ordered Large which fit perfectly. I'm 5'10, 155lb and lean; shoe size 10 and 1/2. I hope this helps somebody who wants to get the good size.

I use this for sparring in Muay Thai and they are great fitting, offer excellent protection, and stay on without any need of adjustment no matter how many times I've shin checked, kicked, had my kicks caught and slipped out, and how much I was sweating. These are also incredibly light and I don't feel them slowing me down in any way. I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs. with a 30" inseam and it fits perfectly. The velcro straps do seem just a tad cheap but strong enough to hold up in sparring but at this price point these shinguards are hard to beat.

I had to order this item twice as the first item was faulty and i have unfortunately received the same of the second item again today and it is still faulty....one of the shin gaurds have been stitched together where my foot is ment to go through, so ive had to cut it myself..i have attached photos below. I will be keeping this item as i need them for training ASAP but i am very disappointed in the quailty and waste of time in getting this item.

Thin guard contour is too flat and need to tie back strap tight to fit around shin. But the back strap material is made of stiff velcro strip with sharp edge that bites into skin when tighten to fit the shin guard around the leg, and it makes too uncomfortable to wear a duration of a time. Not recommended!

I am new to Muay Thai and wanted my own shinguards for practicing and sparring. After doing much research, I decided to give these a try and I fell in love. They are very comfortable and do not shift when in use as long as they are strapped properly. These shinguards offer great protection as well. Sizing chart was accurate for me and I may could have went a size small, but ordered according to the sizing guide just to be safe. For anyone who is new to Muay Thai or at an intermediate level, I highly recommend these!

These are great. I'm 5'11" and 165 lbs. (with skinny legs) and the Large fits perfectly with room for adjustment for people with normal size legs. The three straps around the back of the leg work very well in keeping the guards from slipping from side to side when sparring. Also, I experience no reduction in mobility at the knee and ankle as I have with other shin guards.

Pretty good for the price. I used to have some fairtex ones that were more expensive, but were much thicker. If your planning on doing some harder kickboxing sparring, think about spending the extra money on better ones. Overall for the money pretty good though.

Good quality product, has withstood many training sessions so far. Has some good features, like Velcro straps on the inside (so they don’t scratch you if something gets loose) Easy to put on/off, straps are big enough to accommodate a second pair of shin guards underneath. They take impact really well, and are so light you hardly know you’re wearing them. I hope that they’ll last me another couple of years but by the look of the stiching I am probably being too hopeful.

Arrived quickly and appeared to be as described. However although only using them once a week within a couple of weeks one of the straps broke. I repaired it myself but now have three broken straps. Not good quality, they should be made to withstand a good amount of use considering the sport they are used for

Comfortable to wear in class, gives good protection to you and the kicks recipient. Used for about 4 or 5 hours so far so can’t comment on long term reliability.

Only bought them about 3 weeks ago. Didn't pay attention to the straps which aren't leather. Don't know how long they will last. So far so good.
