It works much easier than I was expecting. The only thing that would have been nice with the design would be if the receiver had an indicator light to let you know when the power was on/off (the remote has various settings with indicator lights). But, once you get used to the equipment, it's not a big deal. The whole set takes a total of 3 AAA batteries. There's a picture on the inside of the receiver that shows which way the batteries need to be put in so it's not that difficult to figure out. In the instructions, it says you can also purchase additional connector cables if you need this product for other types of equipment. The manual is a little difficult to understand because it is in slightly broken English but if you've got a little common sense and just mess around with the transmitter and controller, it is very easy to figure out. One thing I still haven't messed with is the code. You can adjust the code of the components if other technology are interfering with your remote and the receiver. I don't foresee ever needing to do that but if I do, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.This is only my first time using it so I'm not sure about longevity of the product but it was easy to take out of its packaging and I'm happy with how well it works thus far.

Directions are lacking but it works very nicely
Love it! Works great. NO directions really come with it. They are clearly not translated well. So they are difficult to figure out. So, I just had to play with settings. I had a different remote so I tried to do it that way, which didn't work. There was some trial and error work to do, but I got it working.1 - if you set your camera to take continuous shots - when you push the remote it will keep taking continuous shots until you press the remote again.2 - it doesn't work - at least it didn't for me - to take videos. That made me sad. If you know how to make this work for shooting video on a Canon ti5 - please let me know!I had a remote that came in my camera kit. It only works by a radar so you have to be right in front of the camera. So, it made it hard to get a good shot without my hand in a funky position trying to get the remote to meet at the sensor. This one you can shoot from various positions including in front, on the side, or even behind the camera. I think I read you can shoot from pretty far, but I haven't tried it even outside of the room yet. Very happy with it though so far. Only had it a month though and only used it one day.

Perfect gadget once I figured it out
So I also put the batteries in the receiver wrong HA. It's really misleading because the receiver will still work with the camera while plugged in and release the shutter when the button on top is pressed and successfully take pictures even when the batteries aren't in the receiver correctly. I scewed around with it for a good 5 minutes and tried to switch the batteries and left a nice palm mark on my forehead from my own silliness. Overall wonderful product just a few design flaws.

Great Unit for Remote Wireless Focus and Shutter Control
Only tested at 100' so far, Works perfectly with Canon Rebel EOS T5 1200D. It will trigger Shutter while filming movie, no way to remotely activate/start movie operation as that is a separate camera operation.Seems intuitive to me, Rx battery compartment has dimple that contacts negative battery terminal and flat for positive creating a series circuit..If one looks closely inside Receiver (Rx) battery cavity diagram is contained therein.. Transmitter (Tx) has positive / negative orientation molded into plastic.. thumb screw / nut encircling Hot shoe support of receiver (Rx) that will tighten down onto camera hot shoe, same as external strobe lights.. (In the following I state orange color indicators as that is what the green and red LED's appear to me when both are on at same time)Rx LED Status indicator (#2 on instructions) will flash Green when unit on, solid Green when focusing, solid Orange when Tx shutter button pressed or Bulb operation, rapid flashing Red when 2 second delay / timer activated.Tx self explanatory imho. Status indicator (#1 on instructions) Green when focusing Orange when shutter and Bulb mode activated.Setting camera to Continuous Shooting and Viltorx Remote Tx to Bulb camera will continue to shoot until Tx shutter button pressed second time. Rx indicator light Orange when Bulb function shutter activated..Setting camera to Bulb and Viltorx Remote Tx to Bulb will keep shutter open until Tx shutter button pressed second time, timer will indicate elapsed minutes and seconds on camera LCD screen for Motion Blur photography.Pairing, depress Rx ID button within 30 seconds of power on, Green flashing indicator light will turn to alternating Red and Green, depress Tx shutter button, approx 3-5 seconds later Rx indicator light will change to flashing Orange.. Units are paired

Reliable and Easy
I've only used it to shoot once so far but it works like a dream. Used on my Canon 70D from several years ago. Very easy to figure out and the remote is small and sturdy (in fact it survived me throwing it to get it out of my hand for a couple shots). Didn't have any issue with the distance though I didn't attempt to trigger it from very far. The easy to use timer and burst features are wonderful and the single shot options works really well too (love that these are features on the remote itself so you don't have to go back and forth to the camera). Surprisingly good focus for remote shooting; though I imagine this has more to do with the camera than the remote itself. Great buy and the price can't be beat!

Seemingly good price, poor make
The first two times I used it with a Canon 60D was heat. However, the second and third times I had to have the wire half-plugged in and multiple times have had to reset the syncing several times. Now it only works when the cord is half plugged into my camera. Maybe I just had a particularly bad product, but I found it very poorly made in that in it quickly stopped working even after multiple battery switches.

Easy To Use & Reliable
I've purchased a few wireless remote and I have to say I love this one! It's easy to use. I didn't even have to read the instructions to use it. That's how easy it is to use this remote. I love it! It's reliable every time I pulled it out for use. I used it while on vacation and it worked perfectly!!
