Great product that more than meets my needs... 4.5 stars
I have had the lamp for a few weeks. I am a wood worker and do quite a bit of 'small' work at my work bench. I had a good array of overhead LED tube lights that brightened my work area very well but found that I frequently needed more focused light and the aid of a magnifier. After some research I homed in on the Britghtech Light because of the magnifier, the LED light system and the apparent sturdy construction. It turns out I made a good choice for my needs. The led light system is very bright and nicely enhances my work under the normal shop lights. Because it does not get 'hot' the LED system enables me to enclose it with a clear plastic bag as a cover to block all of the dust I generate. The magnifier did take a little time for me to 'find the range' but is a very effective aid and has improved my visual access to the details of my wood projects. I do have to get a little closer to my work than I would like but it is not a big issue. Lastly, the sturdy construction of the light is excellent. The extension joints are well constructed and hold their position without the usual tendency to slowly' spring back' seen in other , lesser quality, extension lamps. This is an excellent product and exceeded my expectations in performance and quality.

Amazing Magnifying LED lamp! Worth every penny.
Amazing lamp! Rated at 9 watts max, this lamp is brighter than the higher wattage lamps in my household! The lamp itself seems to be built very sturdy, is lightweight and is easily moved around to light anywhere within it's reach. Clamps well to my 1.5" thick desk and has held it's hold through many adjustments. The led lamp is very bright and provides a comfortable white light that does not make my eyes tired and enhances the details in my projects. Their is no detectable heat coming from my lamp, I can have the lamp on for 5 hours and I feel no heat coming from it. The 5" glass magnifier seems to be made well and brings clarity to fine detailed work that is ordinarily hard to see with the naked eye and with glasses. So far been using the magnifier to solder small electrical components and the magnifier/lamp hovers high enough above my work that I can see small details without fear that the soldering iron will melt or burn the lamp itself. I also appreciate that this magnifier has a cover, the cover keeps dust off the lens and keeps the sun from starting fires as the lamp is on a desk near a window. Overall, although I have only used this lamp for a couple of weeks, I feel very comfortable that this lamp will work with me for several years. I would definitely recommend this lamp (and related models) to others. I feel so comfortable with this lamp that I am also considering a floor model for my parents and another clamp-on lamp for my other desk. Price on these lamps are a good value for the quality that is provided. Also worth mentioning, this purchase arrived 1 week ahead of projected delivery date. Pros: 1. bright. 2. sturdy. 3. great magnifier. 4. competitive pricing and quality. Cons: Can't think of any at the moment, I really like this lamp so far.

OUTSTANDING QUALITY & VALUE! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
ONEof the BEST PRODUCTS I EVER PURCHASED! I purchased this lamp back in 2019, and it has worked flawlessly on a daily basis ever since! All the lamps of this type that I had purchased in the past had diffculty maintaing the angle it was set to - no matter how hard I tightened the wing nuts/joints. THIS LAMP IS AMAZING! IT STAYS PUT NO MATTER WHERE WHAT ANGLE IT SET IT TO! It has only one wing nut - located at the head of the lamp. The "elbow" of the arms has no nut or bolt toe tighten, but it stays firm and secure. YOU SIMPLY POSITION THE ARMS OF THE LAMP ANYWHERE YOU WANT, AT ANY ANGLE, AND IT STAYS! I use it everyday, and frequently change the angle, and it has remained tight and secure all these years! Frankly, I don't really understand how they manage that. IMPECCABLE WORKMANSHIP! On the other hand, the lamp I purchased prior to this one was one of the absolute worst purchases I ever made! it was: Daylight UN1030 Naturalight 7-Inch Magnifying Lamp (a fire hazard, which thankfully is no longer available). It worked for only 30 minutes before the wire connector burned/melted and nearly caused a fire! And during the few minutes it worked, Unfortuanately, I was in the process of moving to a new home, and by the time I had a chance to use it, the return window had elapsed.

Does what it says on the tin. The lamp is a capable one that gives the user some control over color temperature.
Other than the LED control feature, the lamp does its job quietly, same as any other swing arm magnifier. The LED control is touch and can adjust warm and cool LED independently. There are something like four or five brightness steps for each set of lights. If I were to critique the design, I would have used tactile physical controls so that You can adjust without looking. If you are in the habit of grabbing the lamp, you'll most likely change the light setting accidentally (hence the grab handle which is a bit close to the touch controls). The power switch is also offset to the right, an odd shift from one of their other models that place the switch on the lamp's neck. The color LEDs are fairly red on the warm end. Not quite heatlamp red but approaching it. The cool LEDs are on the blue/purple white side. You can get a pretty good mix of temperature options between the two. Their other fixed color lamp has more of a green tinge, so I've been able to mix RGB settings just by moving the magnifying lamps around (idea: maybe a three way color changing lamp that's super duper expensive for those artists, designers, and such with their own colorimeters for the workbench). I'll be using this both to do electronics projects and to pain miniatures. Both lamps replace two older Ott lights that were taking up a lot of space and were too close to the desk. Now I have much more space and good shadow-eliminating overhead light at a decent height with the ability to deal with difficult circuit issues or miniature details just short of needing a full microscope. Good idea. Good execution. Good product. Note: for those asking about side and upside down mounts, don't bother and think of another solution for your work area. The lamp swings freely inside its clamp which must be mounted right side up. The arm design itself has always needed gravity to work its spring magic since it was invented, same as a Hollywood steadicam uses weights for a pendulum. No doubt there could be some kind of other upside down or sideways arm designs that could work, but you'll need to design one or find a mechanical engineer to figure out how to balance the forces.

Good quality - useful
Very nice manifying desk lamp. Materials and construction are great. The swingarm is easy to move and holds its position well. However, the swivel joint of the head is too stiff and requires two hands to manipulate. Maybe it will loosen up over time and become easier to use... The light ring is bright and very usable in most situations, but I wish it had an "extra bright" mode for getting a really good look at things under the magnifying glass. I really like the 2.5x magnification - it seems to be just the right amount for a range of close-up work, but not overly powerful so that you can't see things outside of a narrow band of focus.

Very Robust unit with good range of motion
This unit replaced a circular florescent bulb magnifier with a large transformer in the base. The old unit had strong springs but you had to slacken and re-tighten the clamps at the joints every time you moved it or the springs would return it to the "parked" position. This unit is well built, good quality and is balanced so it will stay where you pull it to and is fairly stable and not easily knocked off station once positioned. I knocked of star rating points for 3 small reasons. 1. The magnifier is just too powerful. If you are doing soldering work which I am, the work has to be within 1.5-2" of the lens to be in focus. The light then gets very in the way of working and also gets dirty very quickly during soldering and needs cleaned every few hours as the solder flux smoke gets all over the lens. 2. It isn't super bright. I have a powerful overhead triple strip light other wise it would be difficult to get a good view of items you are pulling into view. This may be connected with the fact the field of view of the lens is quite restrictive due to the magnifying power but may also be because of the light angle from the LEDs. 3. The last reason only applies top people with standard industrial style electronic assembly benches like me, but the first section of arms is too long for a standard workbench with fixed overhead lighting. These benches are all very similar in size and shelf position. When the unit is clamped on the shelf, it cannot be pushed further upwards than the shelf height as the first arm set hits the overhead florescent strip light diffuser. If you pull it sideways to avoid that, the entire mechanism ends up under the overhead light blocking loads of the light. Overall I could not afford the $250+ for a so-called professional industrial version of this product and this unit does the job and is astronomically lower cost and good value for money. Unlike my previous unit, all the important moving and rotating parts are made of good quality metal so I think this will have a long life and is standing up well to constant daily use. If you can live with the issues I stated above, I believe it is a solid 4 star product that will last a long time. I would recommend this.

High quality, bright, medium-power magnification
This is the perfect replacement for a 1980's vintage magnifying lamp I've been dissatisfied with for a while. I recently bought a Brightech floor lamp for a guest bedroom and was impressed with both the quality and design considerations, so it was an easy choice for me to purchase this new Brightech magnifying lamp, and I've not been disappointed. The Brightech does everything the old one did, but better. It's brighter than the old one, replacing fluorescent technology with LED, It is easier to move into the position I want, and it adds a cover for the lens, which virtually eliminates the always-present buildup of dust. In my application, it is affixed to and end of the counter between the kitchen and family room, where activity is focused and it is therefore used a lot. Its design allows it to tuck up underneath the kitchen cabinet - completely out of the way - when it's not being used. The on/off switch is a simple 2-position rocker, as opposed to the previous old fluorescent, which required holding it down for the correct amount of time in order for it to come on. Too short or too long a time resulted in having to turn it off and try again. Good design and new technology integrated into a great product.

One of the best lamps I have ever owned.
This is a great lamp. I purchased this for my desk and a similar ne, with different light temps for my wife. We are both thrilled with the lamps. The only thing I would have liked to see was a base I could have drilled into my desk. The clamp is OK, but my desk has a very small lip. I will need to look for a way to mount this directly on my desk rather than using the clamp. I am not there yet, but even with just the clamp this lamp is exceptional and the magnifying lens is truly very useful for fine work, recognizing pills and other occasional magnifying needs.

Top notch product ... got to buy !
I just love this lamp ... very long reach, making it very useful on a large desk, very sturdy construction, it stays where you set it (just as advertised). Brightness is great, I love two tones (warm and daylight, variable intensity). Being able to protect the lens with its integrated cover is also a great feature. Magnification is just good for my needs (I work among other things at fixing very little mechanical parts on a hobby helicopter). Overall very well engineered and manufactured. Only improvement I suggest is the location of variable intensity touch buttons is too close to the front end and I continuously hit them by accident while moving the lamp :( ... they should be at the rear end, along with the power switch, as far as I am concerned. Highly recommended !!!

Excellent product but voltage should be more prominently displayed
The info on the screen should make clear an adapter is needed to use this in the UK

Great Mag Light
I have used many magnifying lamps over the last five or six years. Brand names like Ott and Daylight, as well as others. I’m always looking for a good Magnifier. This one fills the bill. The lens is glass which makes a big difference in terms of precision viewing, the lights are bright but not glaring, the unit itself is very sturdy and the springs are encased so there is less of a chance of you snagging something or pinching yourself when moving the lamp. It’s a very good value.

Very nice lamp for work bench
I was conflicted between this lamp & the floor lamp model. Glad I went with is one. Invested the money in this model & received a good product. Magnification, amount of light output & arm positioning all work well I use my on a work bench where I use small components. Only used by adults so I assume it will last as long as I need it. Have not had it too long so did not give 5*'s across the board.
