Cratex Engine Turning Kit - Z086

Cratex is an amazing company that has really nailed rubberized abrasives. I’ve used them to port and polish before and wanted an easy to use kit, with multiple grits for engine turning on various projects. This kit is perfect. So far I’ve used them on aluminum, copper, stainless and cold rolled mild steel. Worked great in every instance. I’ve used it with a bit of clover valve grinding compound, just to experiment, but honestly, I feel they worked and looked best dry. And, being 1/2 they chuck into my drill press. 1/2” diameter swirls isn’t ideal for every project, but given the size, price and ease of use, these are spot on. Will buy again when they’re worn beyond further use, probably won’t be for many years. And I turn a fair amount.

They worked like a charm. Metal turned a 32 Ford dash insert. Very satisfied with the results. Using a drill press and a spacing fixture, it took about 2 hours to metal turn a 7 inch by 15 inch piece of stainless steel. No noticeable wear on the one stick I used. Looking for other applications

I thought these would be longer, but they do the job. The three stars are strictly because of length though (and I might not have read the details of the description also), but the length makes it very difficult for me to manipulate when working at a task.

Works great and seems to last well. I was too excited to write this review to finish my project before. I used a 3/8” stagger with the 1/2 rods. Catches the light really well at night.

These small bars fit nicely in a keyless drill chuck and I intend on using them more for jeweling rifle bolts and actions. Good range of grits for different applications and good amount of pieces for the price will buy again .

I very rarely leave reviews, but I have never been able to get that professional engine turn look until I bought these. Very, very good product.

Takes a minute to get used to but looks awesome in the end.
