Really nice can opener
After struggling with an old can opener for years, I bought this one on the recommendation of a friend. It works really well. It cuts the top all the way off every can, it’s easy to turn, and it looks so rugged that I think my grandchildren will be using it someday. It’s larger than most so it will take up more space in your gadget drawer.

KitchenAid is top quality
I want to preface this with my belief that you don't buy a new item if your current item can still be used and KitchenAid products generally last. I purchased the combo package of a grater with storage/measuring cup and a Manual Can Opener. First, the Grater: I may have purchased the grater this was to replace in the early to mid 1980's. Certainly no later than 1990! This grater, with the hard plastic collar and top handle seems like it will never collapse in on itself, as my old one finally did. It's slightly larger overall and, while space is always tight in a well used kitchen, it stores its own measuring cup/covered container, so I'll forgive it. The container, with it's own seal, is very handy as I no longer have to grate onto a paper towel and then transfer that to a measuring cup. I could say that it stops one from wasting cheese when you grate too much but the "extra" was always consumed by kids, dogs & hubby wandering by and pinching a bit here & there... well, not the dogs, everyone generously shared their snagged bits with them, woof woof 😜 😉 The Manual Can Opener: I am blown away by the ease of use and quality of this product. I have an opener that never caught the can edge properly, needed excessive pressure to hold the handles tightly together and usually needed repeated repositioning every time I needed to open a can! As my arthritis has worsened, I often needed someone else to help and watched THEM have the same issues. Anyway, when my grater collapsed, I saw the package with both and ordered it immediately. This opener is extremely easy to use, it doesn't open very wide but, I placed it on a can, gave a little squeeze and easily turned the handle just a couple of times before the lid dropped into the mandarin oranges! I was flabbergasted at the ease of use because I've been using the old one for several years, often got pinched and would just give up on trying to get a lid entirely off. We would pry the can open with something else until we could scoop out the contents. Luckily, we don't really open many cans and, until the mandarin oranges stopped having "pull tops" it was rare to NEED an opener. I'm not cheap, I AM frugal. I don't know where the old opener came from but, I know KitchenAid. For well over 35 years, I've owned a (refurbished) KitchenAid Mixer including many of the attachments and several other KitchenAid products. Every item with their name on it has provided years of service and they stand behind their products. This package was more expensive than most of the others and that's a consideration for some but I'm confident that I'll save money in the long run. Spend a couple of extra dollars now and you won't have to replace the items as often.

Solid, reliable can opener
This KitchenAid manual can opener has become my favorite kitchen tool for opening cans. The sharp stainless steel cutting wheel glides smoothly through lids and the large ergonomic handles provide a comfortable, non-slip grip, just as many reviewers have praised. I like that it doubles as a bottle opener and the easy-turn knob requires little effort to use. Some reviewers note that the metal parts can rust if left soaking, so I make sure to hand wash and dry it immediately. Overall it's a sturdy, reliable opener that feels solid in the hand and does the job well.

Must hand clean and dry - will rust.
Purchased Jan of 2025 literally lasted me less than a year. It was working really great and was easy to use until it broke. Mainly due to user errors It says not to put in the dishwasher and hand wash. PLEASE FOLLOW those instructions. Getting lazy and just throwing in the dishwasher, yea it might come out okay the first dozen times but eventually it will RUST. Which I don’t think the rust resistant feature is accurate (hence the 4 star) I saw some reviews saying it was fine after going in the dishwasher don’t take that as absolute truth. Other than that, if you take care of this thing the right way, it will last a good while.

Great can opener
I love my kitchenmaid can opener. Many other brands rust easily or break on me, which is frustrating as someone who makes a lot of homemade marinara sauce, tacos, and other things. It opens cans fast and glides easily, so I wouldn't worry about cutting yourself as long as you're careful! It's safe, small enough o store while being able to open any can, and a good price. No sharp edges and has a bottle opener at the top.

A high quality opener
You're tired of your dull, cheap can opener? This KitchAid is a classic for a reason. Easy to grip and has a smooth operation. Over the last 6 months I've used a sink brush to scrub off any food that might get on the can opener and even now it looks brand new.

Cuts cleanly and easy to use
This works well and cuts through cans easily without a lot of effort. It also doesn’t seem to leave very sharp edges on the lid, which is nice. The handle feels sturdy and it was reasonably priced compared to other can openers. Overall it does exactly what I needed it to do.
