Excellent savings. Excellent condition. Excellent Tudor Era historical fiction series!
This review is only for the six-book pack of the Shardlake series, not an individual book in the series. However, after reading the first book, I am very glad to have the remaining books in this series since I really enjoyed the story, characters, and ending. The set of books arrived safely in a cushioned box and wrapped tightly with FOUR stretch films and strapped together (see photos). Each book was in pristine condition - perfect binding, pages, and covers. If you are a fan of Ken Follett and other Tudor Era historical fiction, then I highly recommend this series! This set will save you LOTS, as each paperback copy sells individually for around $15 or more.

Must Read for Tudor Era Enthusiasts
CJ Samson is quite the author in describing life in England during the reign of King Henry VIII, the politics and religious struggles, and how people of that era dealt with everyday life in that era. The books are interesting, and difficult to put down. A very satisfying and pleasant reading experience, especially for history buffs.

A wonderfully written historical mystery, Umberto Eco style.

mystery in the time of Henry VIII
I'm a history nut but I'm much better informed with the American story. I'm loving the chance to learn more about the political & religious upheaval in England and Europe in the centuries that fed so much American colonization. Then you add interesting characters (love Master Shardlake!) and page turning suspense and danger and it's a winner. I also enjoy book series. While each of the six books can stand alone I recommend the whole group as the characters' journeys build and evolve as you move along. I'm on the fourth in the series of six and I'm enjoying the escape in the time of COVID 19.

Powerful gripping stories set in Tudor England
These books are amazing - the detailed accounts of the sights, sounds and smells of Tudor England [mostly but not entirely London], the way the author weaves in his fictional characters with the historical figures - and the sheer excitement of the mysteries that his protagonist Matthew Shardlake gets embroiled in - all of these make the books totally compelling. I read them aloud to my husband every evening - we have three more to go before reaching the most recent one, Tombland.

Loved this series
I stumbled upon this series by accident. I loved every book in this series. Dissolution and Tombland are my absolute favorites. Being American I had never learned anything about English history and have become obsessed.

Fantastic series of books!
Great historical fiction by a wonderful writer! There is one more book in the series and I ordered that to complete my read. I was sorry to have the series come to an and and hope Mr. Sansom is busy working on a follow up!
