Lovely Asian solution to an otherwise bothersome drying problem
Imaginative design, carefully executed, all in wood, and compact. The solution to drying bags and baby bottles with a very little imposition on the kitchen counter.

Dryer for Storage Bags
Several years ago I purchased this product for $10. Now its more than $30. But it'll save me THAT much in the number of storage bags I DON'T have to buy because this little tool helps me recycle the bags, usually more than 1 time. Its THE tool for drying bags after washing!

Helpful for a Greenie
AS a green family, we do not purchase plastic bags, but instead reuse the ones that prepackaged food comes in. This has been so helpful for drying our bags, as well as other items we wash regularly. Unfortunately, it fell to the floor and the base popped off really easily. I will just need to re-glue it and it should work fine. Sturdy for plastic bags, less so for other items. I like that it can fold up for storing.

I seriously love everything about this dryer. I use it to recycle/reuse baggies.
I don't need this for bottles. Years ago, I saw one in a friend's kitchen. She was using it to recycle zip lock style baggies. It's always grated my nerves to throw away a perfectly good baggie that's been used once and is barely dirty. What a waste of plastic AND money! I remembered hers - just a random thought - and found it here. I was positively gleeful! I ordered it immediately. Now it gets constant use in my kitchen. I wash the inside and outside of baggies with hot water and soap. Then rinse and hang them to dry on one or two of the prongs, depending on the baggie size. They dry quickly and thoroughly. Then they go back into the drawer for reuse until they die a natural death, when they are finally tossed. I just feel so much better about that! The product itself is ingenious. Sliding the disk down opens the prongs. It actually looks a bit like a sculpture when it's sitting out. There's a little metal eyelet at the top so you can hang it up, but mine lives in a drawer. Pushing the disk up brings the prongs together and turns the whole thing into a compact package that doesn't get tangled up in things. It's easy to clean, too, since it really only dries clean things. I just make sure it's dry before I put it away. At the rate we use baggies, I believe this will pay for itself MANY times over. I simply can't say enough about how happy I am to finally have one of my own! There's absolutely nothing negative I can say about it. Thank you for reading my review. I have done my best to give you a detailed and honest opinion. If you found my review helpful, please click the Helpful button below!

Just Too Cool
I've only used this once so far, but I'm really happy with it. I tended to not re-use plastic zip-top bags just because it was such a pain to dry them and I admit I felt a bit guilty about the wastefulness. So on a whim I bought this bag dryer and I'm just tickled pink with it. It's a simple enough design - several long sticks gathered into a base with a sliding divider-thingy that pushes the sticks apart when you push it down toward the base. The base gives it a relatively solid footing although I'm sure putting something heavy on one side, like a bottle, could cause it to tip over. It's fine for plastic bags, though. The base is removable and the divider slides up to bring the sticks close together for storage. I used this on a gallon-sized bag and the sticks being spread out held the bag open and it dried in no time. The wood might eventually warp or something, but I expect I'll get my money's worth out of it. Those zip-top bags aren't free, you know, and reusing them saves real money. So unless this dryer wears out in a ridiculously short period of time I'm sure it will be fine. (I'll update the review if it does fall apart.) Oh - I tried the trick another reviewer mentioned about using straws in a glass instead of a dryer like this and even though it worked it looked pretty tacky. I'm no Martha Stewart but I really didn't like that at all. Still, it's an alternative for somebody who doesn't really want to buy something like this. Personally I find this dryer to be functional and practical, but I understand everybody has different opinions about things. I definitely recommend this dryer.

I got tired of feeling guilty about my plastic bag consumption...
I confess I have for years been an avid consumer of plastic food storage bags, heedlessly undermining the health of the planet. Well, I decided to reform after seeing a drying rack like this in a friend’s house. This drying rack is great, and I’ve discovered that reusing plastic food storage bags is easy. First I rinse out the bag, then just drape it over a prong of the rack, or over the whole rack if it’s a jumbo bag. I put a dishtowel underneath to absorb any drips. And the next day I have a bag ready for the next bunch of kale or carrots. The rack is made of wood — no more unnecessary plastic for me! And it’s attractive enough to sit on my kitchen countertop. It’s very stable. The wooden disk that holds the prongs slides easily up and down to spread out the prongs for small bags or tighten up the prongs to dry a single jumbo bag. The rack is made in Canada, which I consider a plus. I prefer to buy American and Canadian. Having this rack should make my current supply of food storage bags last a lifetime. No more plastic bag purchases, no more guilt — I love it!

I have owned one of these for decades, so when I moved back to Australia I was happy to purchase another. They topple a little too easily for my liking, but if you are careful with that, they are an excellent way to dry bags after washing. Be careful to keep the underside of the base dry, or allow it to dry completely if it becomes wet. Larger bags I spread over several spokes to keep the bag open and aid the drying process.

Best thing ever to dry plastic bags

This dryer is a simple idea which works perfectly; we have been fiddling around with drying bags and knocking over draining plastic bottles for years and this device solves the problem. Bottles and bags are not in the way and dry easily in a corner of the kitchen. I wish I had thought of it myself... Thank you! Even looks good when not in use and sort-of sculptural when it is in use....

Bought as a Christmas present. The recipient was very pleased and has found it very functional and easy to use. It seems to be a nicely made object.
