RoadPro RP-452 Small Self-Extinguishing Ashtray - Black

Got this to replace my old ash tray that had fallen out of the car one too many times. It works. It hangs on the window so I can easily use it while driving. It holds ashes and cigarette butts. It's not huge, so you are going to have to empty it fairly often. On the other hand, it doesn't get in my way. It's about the same size as my old one, so I'm happy with it.

This little ashtray works really well. Fits and stays perfectly into the car window opening. Since ashing out of a car window can get you pulled over and given a ticket, this little window ashtray is an absolute must for those who smoke and drive.

I got one of these ashtrays 6 months ago and yesterday I finally broke its lip! So I am going to order a new one. That's absolutely the best I can get to have me smoking in my car as clean as possible! Pros: + It installs easily by the side window. So: + * Almost all the smoke goes outside, in compare to the ashtrays you have to put in the middle of your car. + * It doesn't distract you when driving. You can keep your eye sight straight and then point your cigarette to it. Cons: - It is not a match for cigars. Only cigarettes. And the small dents on sides are too small to hold your cigarette by itself; unless you don't care to push harder and have your cigarette butt shaped rectangular. - You have to first extinguish your cigarette first (by pushing to the top surface, next to the hole), and then throw it inside. Otherwise it will continue burning and burn other cigarette butts in, and consequently the nasty odor will come out of the hole! Hints: + As another reviewer has mentioned: Shake it! Shake it! [when you are done, to have ash goes in and butts not block the hole] + Do not pull your windows down to bottom or the wind will blow the ash into the car. + If you are sensitive to the odor, you have to clean it frequently. I do this job every week and to keep the odor inside, whenever I park my car, I clog the hole with a soft tissue (pushed!) so that the odor of dead cigarettes inside will not come up! + Still, if you are even more sensitive and want to keep it clean, you can get some aluminum foil and cover inside of the tube with it every time you clean it in your gas station. It will prevent cigarettes from touching the plastic area inside and you can just grab and smash the aluminum cover! + Extremely sensitive? Get one odor remover / fresh air sprays and spray on top and through the hole every time you clean it! You can get one at dollar tree for $1 and use it for many months to fight with the odor!

I was expecting a two-pack of ashtrays, only received one, I should have read more carefully I would not have purchased had I known as more reasonably price options are available. Looks sturdy and should do the job but I still feel duped.

Does not extinguish cigarette. It smolders and stinks up your vehicle. My solution was to add water to the bottom of the cup.
