Tick tick tick
I am so desperate for some sort of structure whilst "working from home" (by which I probably mean staring at the laptop in the hope that someone will respond to one of my increasingly simple emails) that I now only reward myself with coffee at set times; 7.30 at breakfast, 11 post dog walk and again at 4 (decaff only - need to sleep so I can be up before 7.30 to repeat the whole exercise). This hasn't, however stopped my endless quest for a tasty alternative to the standard issue Dolce gusto pods. These particular ones are my latest foray into the world of independent suppliers and I have to say they are not at all bad. Not great and sadly not quite up to regulation issue but if furloughed pennies are tight they are a fair substitute. They taste of coffee and don't cost the earth. One word of warning though. They take forever to fill a cup. They don't trickle, they drip in a half- hearted fashion with all the enthusiasm of my teenage and school deprived son when asked to clean under his bed. Perhaps this means the hot water swirls around longer in the pod harvesting the flavour or perhaps it's just a cheaper pod. I don't know, answers on a post card, or perhaps an email. You know I'm waiting......

Leaks and takes ages to produce your drink
The media could not be loaded. The capsule splits at the top where the seal is and hot water floods out. This has happened on 1 out of every 3 and so the relatively cheap alternative turns in to being not. This is a shame because the packaging and flavour is good.

Quite good actually!
Many reviews quote water leaks and if my 5 year Jovia is anything to go by it is probably in the same state. Key here is maintenance! I read up on it when mine sprang a leak: two things, replace the easily replaceable 'Diffuser Plate' (about £12 Maddocks 65-TF-61 for Tefal, Dolce Gusto and others - Tefal Parts MS-622718 - from Amazon) and descale (bicarbonate of soda will do fine rather than the expensive propriety solutions). Solid fix! Sorted. We are all guilty of thinking these machines will perform as they did out of the box forever - they don't. If the Note pods are slightly different in their manufacturing tolerances from the original, it will be highlighted in the seal not contacting fully enough and hence a leak. This is a known issue when the unit becomes a little tired anyway - not the fault of the pods per se. Good coffee and good price. Nice.

very weak
my family and I found these to be very weak in taste.our first try was as usual using our small glass coffee cups, these are the small ones that are perfect for all the other Dolce Gusto pods.thought we would try these as seemed good value for money and other reviews on the whole had been favourable.so I made 3 cups for us and the crème/foam on top was nice but after that (if you're old enough to remember hot chocolate from vending machines in 70s and 80s) it was flavourless dishwater.we all said same.now you do get 48 capsules in a box so I decided to try two capsules per small glass cup, fill half way up take out capsule and put another in and top up the cup.this works nicely, good crème on top and nice chocolate taste.so if buying I would recommend 2 capsules per small! glass or cup.personally won't be buying again

Potentially dangerous
Coffee would have tasted great, if any of the pods had worked. Starts off well. coffee comes through for a second or two, then clogs up and water starts to dribble out of other parts of the machine. I think these are potentially dangerous

Leaks under water pressure when put in coffee machine.
I have had on the odd occasion had one of them leaking out of one packet, but this time (up till now) I have had five (5) leaking out of nine (9) pods. What has happened is that they were not sealed correctly when they were putting to tops on, so, when you put them in the machine the water pressure builds up and they start leaking.

Good value cappuccino for regular use.
I’m a bit of a coffee addict, especially cappuccino. I recently had a Dolce Gusto machine delivered and trying out the many capsules available. The cappuccino capsules from Nescafe make a really nice cup of coffee. To do this they use two capsules, one for coffee and one for the milk. There is no doubt that this gives the best results. The downside though, is that each cup of coffee works at upwards of 40p. Fine for now and then but too expensive for regular use. These Note d’Espresso cappuccino capsules only use one capsule per cup. The coffee and milk or in one capsule. This halves the cost and brings the cost down to around 20p a cup.Is it as good? Not quite. There’s nothing wrong with the flavour, it’s just you don’t get that extra frothy milk on the top of your coffee. To me, it’s a sacrifice worth making to save money.Overall, good value cappuccino for regular use.
