This is a HUGE container of food! My turtle eats it up after being placed directly into the water and not into a food dish. It does make the water dirty though.

There is a pond on the complex where I live and it is well stocked with wildlife including turtles. I feed the turtles almost daily and they love this Natural Aquatic Turtle Food. I originally bought it from the pet store but the containers were small and expensive. I often get 20 - 40 turtles daily so I'm using a lot. I started ordering large containers online from the pet store at a big savings. Then I searched Amazon and found the same product in a larger container at a better price. My turtles are happy and so am I. I would recommend this product most highly!!

Okay, I don't know if it tastes like chicken, but both my red-eared sliders eat some daily. I mix it with the "floating sticks". The adult formula really smells bad after the turtles "process" it, so I still use the growth formula. By itself, it is most likely too much protein for an adult turtle, which is another reason I mix it. The size is great and the price is right. I must say that both of my turtles are rescued from the evil clutches of humans who thought it was a good idea to get a turtle. Turtles can live for fifty years or more in captivity if they are treated well, so it is long term commitment. They are a lot of work, but both turtles have entirely different personalities. The turtle I have had since 2003 has shown intelligence although science says it isn't possible. When I let her out on the carpet on a regular basis, I must have let her out too long. She got behind the bucket I used to bail out and change the aquarium's water and pushed it out to the center of the kitchen floor. She reasoned that if she put that out where I could see it, then she could go back in her tank. It was almost dead center in the kitchen. Amazing.

I know that sounds RIDICULOUS.... Turtles eat it. But that the truth. I guess our African sidenecks are picky but they eat this food. Finally it doesn't go to waste or clog the filter because they ignored it....
