2004 suburban battery cable
Battery cable replacement for 2004 chevrolet suburban 1500. Quality and direct fit. Recommend.

Fits 2002 silverado 4.8
Perfect replacement for a 2002 chevy silverado. I had an intermittent no crank no start. Hard to diagnose cause it was intermittent. I replaced this ground cable and clean all ground points on truck. This didn't fix the intermittent no crank issue but I'm sure it didn't hurt to replace the old corroded ground cable. The intermittent problem turned out to be the starter. Starter still tested good at autozone. Old starter was weak compared to the new one. The new starter finally got rid of that no crank no start problem.

Not identical to the OEM, but OK
This isn’t identical to the OEM, however the functionality is fine. Cable is a larger gauge than OEM which is good, however the end that mounts to the engine lacks the ‘stop’ to prevent it from trying to spin when tightening. Overall it’s OK, just not perfect.

Easy install, took less than 15 mins. The small gauge wire is longer than the old one- thankfully- so getting it routed was a snap.

It's OEM - an on Amazon!
What more can I say here? It's great to find OEM GM parts available here, saved me a lot of money. So much better than buying generic parts store crap cables and trying to get them to work correctly. In terms of the electrical system of a vehicle there isn't much as important as the negative cable.

My negative cable was trash and causing all types of issues. This was a direct replacement and took a few minutes.

My starter was cranking very slowly. I traced the issue to high resistance in the negative battery cable. It was caused by a gouge in the wire insulation that lead to corrosion inside of the cable. This replacement has the starter cranking like new again.

Does what it needs to do

Confirm the need to bend lead end before install,Works good heavierthan factory gauge, no position tabs though , remove on 4x4 s scuff plate, on these you will work underneath. At block either reuse heat tape or new and harness wrap for rest. I tend to silicone bare exposed wire before install except where contact is required, definitely use penetrant and antiseize at Front body mount bolt and position any other wires under the main leads on both lead ends. Many of these corrode at the 10 -15 year mark or earlier . Good grounds that are shiny clean do fix gremlins. You will need this any where near rust belt. I’ve seen sneaky corrosion 6” up from posts under wire that “looked” good and in the middle too . And old cablewill fool you and work 40 to 75 degree. But 40 below or 90 above no go. Final note convert to top post if you can using adapters that allow end tie in to top post with longer bolt . Dual post battery’s are worth weight in gold imo. About an hourlong to do, but prep first with sealant to in sure no bare corrosion at ends. This gives much longer use overall.
