A reliable solution for those overpriced, useless lighting timers
I purchased this to replace a fancy timer that just infuriated me with the constant power outages. Yes, we have weather here and my home generator is not fast enough to prevent the timer from resetting. An engineer would ask, who designed that garbage without at least a way to retain memory for 10 seconds but they did. It is fair to ask how I ended up with a timer. Well, I was careless and had a misunderstanding with a contractor. I guess they though install landscape lights included a timer to control them where I just wanted the lights installed. It was not much more money but it has caused constant headaches. My solution is to install a Zigbee smart plug to plug this transformer into and hardwire the output to the lights where that stupid timer once was wired. Now, my Home Assistant can turn the lights on or off as needed and it is on battery UPS with the POE-enabled wireless network and never suffers from power outages. Home assistant does not need a photosensor that might give false reading since dawn and dusk are available as presets. I can, of course, use motion sensors or vibration sensors or even weather events to control the lights. Home assistant is not much more expensive than a decent timer. Just buy this and stay away from the timers!!

Works great. Used to replace a supply that cost $200 on a recent deck rebuild, that lasted 6 months.

Looks / works good so far....
This power supply had no issues running a 12V ham 2 meter rig which draws 7.5 amps on high power. No noticeable audio artifacts in the sent signal. Voltage drop was minimal but seemed to be well under 1 volt at this load. I opened the unit but found it to be filled with a wax like material I assumed to help make it water resistant. Seems like a decent supply. Would order again.

Super handy device. Can test all kinds of 12-volt things to know for sure whether they are working or not. Also has worked well for my transfer pump.
