Unfortunately the reader permanently damaged my SanDisk Extreme CF card (making it unusable) the very 1st time I used it. Given the cost of CF cards, I was not willing to risk damaging another and returned the reader.

CF slot installed upside down? Either awful design or poor manufacturing
This product arrived with the CF slot installed upside down but the SD slot right side up - had to return it. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Putting a card in the wrong way can break the card and the reader

This product cooked an SD card
First time I used the gnarbox CF reader it got extremely hot and started giving off a toxic odour. Unfortunately for me it also killed the SD card I was attempting to transfer photos from.

Micro SD Card slot Broken, and will not hold the card in place
Overall good card reader, but after minimal use, the micro-sd card slot will not catch the card and keep it in place. It worked fine for the first 3 months and is now useless, because it is spring loaded and will not keep the card in place. I will gladly change my review if the reader is fixed or replaced by the manufacturer as I understand that with a new product there can be design flaws. I hope I hear back from someone on this issue.
