The Thick Cotton IKEA Ektorp 2 2 Sofa Cover Replacement is Custom Made for IKEA Ektorp Corner Or Sectional Sofa Slipcover (Dark Blue)

I’ve been using this cover for 3 weeks or so, and it has performed very well. The fabric is thick and suitably soft (very comparable to IKEA covers), and the seams appear solid. This cover fit perfectly onto our 2006 EKTORP sofa. After 14 years of smooshing, our cushions are probably a bit compressed, but the covers fit on them fine. I will say that the previous IKEA cushion covers fit tighter, but I have also washed them all SEVERAL times. (Interestingly, the tighter covers seem to have made the foam cushions a bit firmer, so that when I put on the newer, looser covers, our cushions were suddenly a bit saggy. But you get used to it.) I have NOT yet washed these cushion covers, but I have used Nature’s Miracle on one cushion and you would never be able to tell once it dried. Color is maybe a bit lighter than in the picture, but I think that depends on lighting. It’s more dark steel gray than charcoal, I guess. User photos are a good guide. This cover is better constructed than our original IKEA covers (of which we have had 2). On the original covers, the part of the main couch body cover that is under the cushions, is constructed of a cheap kind of webbing (?) fabric that tears easily, and has vertical strips of fabric, under which dust and debris are always trapped, and which must be lifted during vacuuming. On this cover, however, there is real, sturdy fabric and the strips are integrated into the piece. Much stronger and cleaner! The strip of Velcro that holds the body cover to the body, is holding well, no problems there. I wish IKEA had put a wider strip of Velcro on the body of the couch, but that is not the fault of this cover, obviously. As far as fuzz and soil being visible, we haven’t had that problem. We have several young children and a puppy, and I have not been bothered by this. Puppy is minimal/no shedding breed, so hair is not a huge concern, but it’s easy for me to brush off when I do see it. This is a great cover at a great price point, and it really saved us, as IKEA has discontinued the EKTORP and options are limited. Very happy with this purchase!

I’m writing this review for people like me that have been scouring the internet trying to find a less expensive option to recover a PB sectional. We have a PB basic sectional that is at least 15 years old. It is the Made by Mitchell Gold for Pottery Barn line. It needed a new cover, and we could not find anything less than $700. So, I took many measurements, and found that it was closest to the IKEA Ektorp sectional in size. I found a couple of blogs and reviews saying that the sofa cover fit, but not perfectly. After retaking all of my measurements, I decided to give this cover a try, since I could return it if the cover didn’t work. I was not disappointed! It is not a perfect fit. I have to do some folding and tucking, and it doesn’t perfectly fit the arms, as shown in the last picture. As far as the quality of the cover itself, I am very pleased. The fabric is thick and the construction is great. The fabric is a bit rough, but it will soften up over time. I am so very thankful that we were able to get this and save so much money! I don’t know if this would fit every PB Basic sectional, but if the measurements of yours is close to the Ektorp sectional, it might be worth a try.

Edit, UPDATED REVIEW: I realized after contacting the company that I had replaced one of the couch cushions with another IKEA cushion because my dog ripped it up. I couldn't figure out why i had an extra cushion and one less pillow cover, but i blame my sleepiness. Anyway, the product is very nice, good heavy fabric, mostly cotton. Color is very nice too and evenly dyed. Would buy again, A+ product, I goofed and thought they hadn't sent me enough covers but I was wrong. OLD REVIEW: The cover is nice and is well made. It fits my Ektorp perfectly. But they gave me the wrong number of pillow covers. Instead of the correct number of seat cushion covers, they gave me an extra back cushion cover. So, I have one uncovered seat cushion and I'm not sure how to get ahold of the company. If I get the replacement cushion, this will be a 5 star product.

These are beautiful slip covers. Unfortunately they did not fit my sectional.

I don’t know what it is about this fabric but every piece of lint or pet hair within a 50 mile radius will find it and stick to it. It’s truly amazing. I’ve never seen upholstery fabric hold on to everything like this sofa cover does. I’ve had it for about a month and it looks terrible all the time. I’ve bought every pet hair removal tool and the market but unless I use them twice a day it looks like my couch has a 5 o’clock shadow. I hate it with the fire of 1,000 suns. This is my 3rd cover for this sofa and the only one I have truly detested. Do yourself a favor and find something else.

It’s an ok cover for the price but it’s not as nice as the original ikea cover which ikea used to sell for just a little bit more. I didn’t really like the feel of this one and it seemed to be a bit loose on the pillows. But easy to put on and since it is washable, maybe after a wash it will shrink a little!

PERFECT fit. I also appreciate that each part was separately folded, like the top cushions were folded separately from the seat cushions. Great color, seems like good quality. Included washing instructions.
