Building Block Compatible SmartiPi Raspberry Pi B+,2, 3, and Pi 3 B+ case w/Camera case – Blue

The case isn't bad but it (as of 26 Mar 2018) feels like a first revision that's waiting to be sold out. The pegs on the inside of the case seem to break easily considering both mine and another customer's case came with a broken piece meant to hold the Raspberry Pi in place. There is a square whole on the side of the case, opposite the USB/Ethernet connections, that I can only imagine was intended to be a viewing window for the power and activity LEDs, but it's on the wrong side. It could be that it's meant to route wiring to the GPIOs, however, there is a space for that on the top of the case so that would seem a little redundant. The GoPro style mount is a really good idea, but access is restricted by the edges of the case that stick out, making it difficult to use standard GoPro gear hand screws, instead necessitating the use of the provided black hex-head screw which is much less convenient to add/tighten/remove. The case is really solid when put together but is much more laborious to take apart compared to the typical RPi case, requiring the user to break out a Philips and hex driver. All and all a unique case that adds a lot of simple but great functionality missing from the standard case. I just think there are a few design changes that could make this case much better.

This is a nice raspberry pi case. The build quality is nice, and the price is reasonable. I do have a few comments - it would have been nice if the case had more technic style "connectors" either on the top, bottom, or the sides. (stud holes). There is currently no way for me to interface the rest of my lego technic set with this case other than with the stud plate provided, and lego enthusiasts will agree that studs don't.engender robust construction. Anyhow, I hope they can improve the case in the next revision - this will do for now!

quality control is questionable. I bought 2, on of them had a broken peg (that is supposed to hold the rpi in place) and there is no real easy way to take the lego cover off. A very cool case, especially for kids, but I had to ding a star for these minor flaws.

The BEST case on the market for the Pi, period. So much functionality and the build quality is something that you generally do not find today. So good I ordered a second one. Please never change the formula (aka quality) as this is what dreams are made of!

This really is the best Raspberry pi case out there. The GoPro compatible mount opens up a world of possibilities for mounting and the lego attachments are just brilliant. The manufacturing quality is also superb.

Exactly as described by the seller, this provides a secure case for the RasPi, and the additional case for the camera is really useful. Allows the unit to be incorporated into Lego constructions - the reason I bought it.Deducted one star for the lack of any assembly instructions.
