The new par for RIVAL blasters . . .
The RIVAL Perses is without a doubt one of the most outstanding Nerf blasters released to date, full stop. Read on more to find out why.In 2017 Hasbro changed the paradigm for its already high-performance RIVAL series with the Nemesis, a hopper-fed monster that boasted top-of-the-line performance at 100 feet per second (FPS) or higher power, incredible 100+ round capacity and the ease of a top-loading hopper (as opposed to earlier attempts using various forms of magazines). This combined with the above average RIVAL accuracy and an impressive rate of fire to make a fearsome blaster that all but invalidated much of the earlier RIVAL offerings. In addition, the Nemesis introduced a rechargeable battery pack (sold separately) that not only increased performance but reduced carry weight and cost to operate by eliminating heavy traditional batteries. With 2019's RIVAL Perses, much of the benefits of the prior Nemesis have been carried over, with a few additional advantages at some acceptable drawbacks. Of the former, the Perses offers both reduced weight and bulk compared to the Nemesis, having both a smaller profile and lighter overall build. It also comes stock with a unique rechargeable battery pack, making the Perses a much better value proposition than the Nemesis. All of this comes at little to no reduction in performance, with the primary drawback being the halved capacity (100 rounds in the Nemesis' hopper versus the Perses' 50).It's worth noting that the Perses is not only lighter than its predecessor but is also a very comfortable blaster to hold, as well. The ergonomic design is something of a bullpup configuration but some may find the thumbhole stock annoying (I personally like it). Loading is as simple as the Nemesis; just slide back the hopper feed door and drop in as many rounds as you like. The feed is a bit more narrow than the Nemesis' massive 100-round hopper, but with practice the Perses is just as easy to reload as its big brother.Once again, Hasbro has shifted the paradigm with the Perses, creating a blaster that does pretty much everything a blaster enthusiast could want, albeit in a notably expensive package. Still, this is a fantastic inclusion to the RIVAL line and will be the benchmark for Nerf blasters going forward.

It works very well
The battery lasts a long time and works exactly as it should. The kids love it.

Make you feel like a kid again
We have some inter-departmental NERF wars in our office and so far it's turned into an Arms Race. This gun is insane. Worth every penny. Feels awesome, sounds awesome, and annihilates your foes. It's incredibly lighter than expected. The rechargeable battery is easy to access and has a long lasting charge. Used it solid for 2 hours and still had juice. It loads easy. No jams so far.My only downside is that the eject button on the left side of the gun is annoying and can easily get pulled by accident, rapidly ejecting your mag. A 10-min 3D Print that locks that button was needed.100000% Recommended.

The Great Equalizer for Parents in the Nerf War
So my family and other in-laws have had a holiday Nerf war for a very long time...over a decade. In the beginning, there were single-shot darts that sometimes couldn't make it across the room, let alone leave a mark on your adversary. My sons have spent money on various Nerf gun variations over the years, moving from the darts to the Vortex discs, to the Nerf Megas, and now lately, to the Rival rounds. Coming into this holiday season, they had single shot Rival pistols (which hurt point-blank mind you...) and my wife and I were tired of struggling to keep up using the leftover Megas. For a surprise parental arsenal addition, I was about to pull the trigger on the Prometheus (think Schwarzenegger with mini-gun) but 200 scratch was a bit much. Tempted by the Hyper line but hated needing a 3rd type ammo in the house...Ahhh...enter the Perses! Takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge and then it's on like Donkey Kong. I purchased another 200 rounds (Little Valentine, great value, work fine) and when it was go time, my 15 and 12 year old sons understood what my old military stories of "5 seconds of gun" meant. No longer does slow, fat old dad need to weave and bob, duck and jink -- just grip it and rip it. Let the love rain down (but for smaller tykes, keep it across the room and 3-4 shot bursts or 1/2 second, these buggers can sting the littles) -- this one delivers everything advertised: 8 rds/second, NiMH battery lasts a long time, and easy to load and use -- no jams or issues for the whole week. Highly recommend for the $80 to win the war (and then give it to the kids...heh, heh).

Amazing blaster but stopped working.
This is EASILY if not the best nerf blaster ever. The rate of fire is INSANE!!! and will destroy your opponent if they are in the open. I go to a nerf arena right up the road on and the whole staff now know me when I bring in this crazy beast, and all the little kids are like WOW... THATS COOL, CAN I USE IT!!!. this product just puts a smile on your face when you rev up the trigger and fire it. It is a very powerful blaster with high accuracy and precision, and it holds 50 rounds which is a lot but... you must pick your shots wisely though because this thing GOBBLES up ammo. However after 2 weeks of using it for some reason it stopped working. I got a little frustrated and I didn't know why it wasn't working. I removed the hopper and found that there was a problem with the safety button/lever (Not the safty lever ABOVE the trigger that you have to pull in order to fire the gun) Just behind the flywheel on the top. If you have owned this nerf blaster for a while then you know what im talking about. If that button/lever is not pressed in, the blaster won't fire. It is also joined together by the jam door, but I really think that this is why the blaster is not firing.DO any of you have this problem? if so let me know or write a review, as I have did research and found that no one has had a problem with there nerf rival Perses as far as I have seen. I am going to send this blaster back and hopefully the next one works. It is so much fun to shoot around and is my favorite blaster.
