Phenomenal Versatile Humbuckers
I’ve been wanting to get this Nazgûl/Sentient set for quite a while. Very happy I made the purchase. Very simple install- I installed in an IYV PRS copy- the guitar sounds amazing now. I re-wired the guitar with vintage push-back cloth wire and also swapped out the pots for CTS/push-pull coil split pot too along with a Pure Tone jack. The wiring diagram contains all the knowledge you need to install these pickups. The lead wires are a little short so I implemented “jumper” wires to connect both red/white wires from each humbucker to their respective lugs on the tone push/pull pot. It’s very simple to add a jumper wire. Now for how they sound. I love the Sentient neck pup which uses an alnico 5 magnet. Beautiful, articulate, very detailed note articulation playing clean, but this neck pup also screams with harmonics and mid range growl as previously stated on prior reviews. The bridge Nazgûl uses a large ceramic magnet and packs quite a punch. It’s just the right amount of power. Phenomenal, layered mid range waves of od/distortion or crisp, detailed notes on clean. These pickups are the clearest and just best sounding pickups I’ve ever heard. I have over 90 guitars, and I’ve definitely done my share of pickup upgrades. I’ve tried just about every brand and style out there and these are by far the best I’ve ever played. These pups sound excellent for down-tuning as well- I play dropped C metal/stoner metal/stoner rock. Let’s put it this way- I’m going to re-record parts of a few songs I’m currently writing with this IYV guitar. You cannot go wrong with Seymour Duncan in my opinion.

Disgustingly emotional.
I’ve played a whole bunch of metal pickups. I wanted to replace the JB/57 set in the guitar pictured. The JB is great and versatile, but just didn’t get as disgusting as I wanted while maintaining clarity and articulation. The Nazgul/Sentient set does and then some. These aren’t “djent’y” pickups. If you’re looking for that djent honk then check out the Alpha/Omega set. These ain’t that. These have that awesome midrange growl and bark. They’re sweet. They can be EQ’ed to sound like Black Winters, but black winters can’t be EQ’s to sound like these. Normally I like higher output, but something about the output range on these that is perfect. There is so much harmonic content it’s ridiculous. While they sound amazing dirty, the thing that surprised me most, was how great they sound clean. I have them wired into a single CTS push/pull to split the coils in every position. Clean ambient tones, or pushed cleans sound better than anything I’ve ever heard. I don’t know if it’s because of the guitar they’re in, or if it’s the actual pickups. All I do know is that I’ve never heard anything sound so good clean. I’m not a big “clean” playing kinda guy, but the Nazgul/Sentient set make me want turn the reverb and delay to 11 and play more clean stuff. If you’re looking for versatility, clarity, articulation, harmonics, general all around filthy growling disgusting metal tones, and stupidly emotional chime’y airy cleans. These will be your jambone.

sorry dimebag darrel, these are perfection.
slapped these in a dean rebel of mine that I tune to C standard and the balance of articulate notes and heavy as hell riffage while still being crystal clear is superb to me. I have the Pegasus/sentient combo as well and both do well to impress. I love that the pickups have such a contrast in neck and bridge. I always feel odd for wanting such a warm tone paired with an aggressive tone but these are just heavenly for my aspirations. much better than the dimebag set they replace in my opinion. Dimebags are good for one purpose, hi-gain obliteration, these are good for everything.

Rock N Roll
great pickup combination . If you like to grind , chop and peel , these are the pickups . I even disconnect a distortion pedal as the gain in a volume pot is enough to get these Mofos to blast the room with all the rock you want

Nazgul / Sentient (6 String) Rocks!!!
This is a terrific set of pickups. I swapped out a 490t/490r combo inside a 2013 LPJ Pro for this set and have not been disappointed. At high volumes the Nazgul in the bridge drives hard but not overbearing or thin, by any means. The Sentient in the neck has a buttery, thick sound. At lower volumes, these pickups clean up really nice. Very versatile set (even more so when wired for coil tapping). With both pickups engaged, it's a very sweet combo. Spend some time rolling the volume/tone's slightly on each while both are engaged and discover some really cool tones.

Awesome set of pickups!
Love these pickups! I got these after trying to install a set of invaders in this guitar, twice, and both times it failed. This set was easy to install and sounds great. If you play Rock or Metal these are the pickups for you, but I was also pleasantly surprised by how nice the clean tones are as well! Definitely one of my favorite pickup sets I’ve installed so far! Rock on!

Get them
Wicked pickups. Although not quitenas wicked as the Black Winter Pickups, these are no joke. Installed in a Jackson Kelly with single volume knob. Could use a tone knob but still wicked! If youre considering them, buy them. You wont be dissappointed.

Duncan slays it again
I put these in a used body that I had around. Tune me to drop b, these pickups absolutely scream. Very mid focused, they make the chugs and leads sound so good when recording!
