PCDJ DEX 3

Software on CD is out of date, but a download from the distributor‘s new server is a simple solution and use the authorization mailed with the CD. Software works well, I’m still learning this system for the most part. Editing of the playlist and song list and moving singers around is not an easy task. it took me 4 hours to set up 5 singers with about 40 songs each, but I do have 171,000+ songs so sorting through to the right version etc. Once set up for a gig the system plays well. If controlled by an external the system could sit in the background (preloaded) and just be cued I’d suppose. In the end my wife and I were able to both run the system and edit on the fly well enough to make it fun. Support by email it seems is only active weekdays, might be a small group building this. In summary, software works and room for bug reports to email the guys for future improvements.

Doesn't work the way should work

Really bad experience, do not buy this product. I purchased this product for karaoke (my bad) and realized it was not optimized for that application. Called sales (customer support did not answer) and was told no problem. Just download the trial version and I would get a new version that included karaoke. I did this and and got the same version I was already running. I continued to struggle to use the software and it was like trying to wear a shoe that doesn't fit. Encountered another question on Friday night (support is week days only) and it is now Tuesday night and still no response. When I decided to add more songs, I found out it cost $99 a month to connect to their supported web site (others are available for $10/month). Bottom line, if you are interested in Karaoke, don't use this software. Hope this helps others as I have have a terrible experience.James

Boy has this product come a long way in the last 2 years! I use it to DJ weekly, but host karaoke twice a week. The new video features including shaders for visualizations are fantastic. I have a large library of karaoke music already but have also subscribed to the Party tyme karaoke subscription that's built into DEX 3. It's legal for commercial use at $99 a month, which is the going rate in the USA. I think the only other comparable solution is $129 a month. Loving the free upgrades, keep up the good work. I recommend DEX 3 to versatile Djs like myself that do more than just basic djing.

Prior one star review withdrawn until I complete the install process. Support has responded to my request for help.
