Likely the best pasta for this amount of money. It cooks in 11-12 min and it is best when a bit hard, in Italian “al dente”. Did you know that you digest the pasta better when it is harder? When it is too cooked, or soft, it is more difficult to digest. Penne means "pen" in Italian, because of its tube-shape with angled ends which was inspired by the quill of an old style ink pen. The large diameter and ridges on the outside of Penne make it ideal for retaining sauces on the entire surface, inside and out! Penne is also delicious in baked casserole dishes, known as “pasta al forno." It has a low Glycemic index, keeping you fuller, longer, and it is made with Non-GMO Ingredients. Yes, I am born and raised in Italy and strongly recommend this pasta!

So happy to get Penne in bulk....and it is Barilla to boot. Amazing product. We use a lot of Pasta ant getting this in bulk is a great value as well as convenient. I always have at least one homemade jar of sauce so keeping pasta during the Winter weather is a no brainer. Like that these are the normal size boxes and that they are easy to story. This beats running for bread, milk and eggs when a storm is predicted.
