NTKNGK 23023 Oxygen Sensor

While changing my entire exhaust system on my 26 year old Jeep YJ I thought it's about time to get a new Oxygen sensor. The old OEM one was not bad/ no trouble codes and was also an NTK. Reading articles online and in Jeep Forums most professional mechanics say to go with the NTK as it is most suitable to the old ECU. For about $30 this was a no brainer and it would have been impossible to take to the old O2 off the front pipe as it was seized and rusty after 26 years. The new one works very well and is a bit faster than the old O2 as it bounces from rich to lean quicker. After driving for about a 100 miles, no codes, so this NTK works well.

Fast delivery and fair price. Threads had a protective cover with anti-seize already applied.Instruction for installation procedure were accompanied by a tightening rotation diagram, which was good. Could have been improved with a better diagram. It took me several reads to reconcile the procedure with the diagram. Use of bold versus thin line arrows was a head scratcher. If I can figure it out, anyone can.

I live in CA and a universal o2 sensor won’t pass. This worked great and I passed smog!!

I work for an automotive repair facility that happens to be a STAR station, we see quite a few 4.0 jeeps that come in for smogs and fail for high NOX (800-2000) range, after checking for cat function and exhaust leaks we normally find that the 02 has been recently replaced or may be faulty. for OBD1 4.0 YJ's YOU MUST have an 02 designed to work with that system, we are finding that many denso's and even factory 02 sensors will cause NOX to INCREASE, all because the 02 switches at a much faster rate than the systems were originally designed. We had a jeep come in a request a pre-test, running the jeep on the machine we could see NOX was through the roof (1800-2000) range at 15 and 25mph. after checking for all other causes of failing it was noted that the customer had just changed the 02, after sourcing an NGK which is the OEM ORIGINAL AMC supplier (NOT DENSO) the vehicle passed without further problems. I have fought for 6 years with many other sensors on many other jeeps and will no longer purchase anything OTHER than an NGK.

My 1992 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L with 363,000 miles was failing for high NOX at 15 & 25mph (1028 & 1800). Replaced Catalytic Converter & tune up & had a 2 year old Denso Oxygen Sensor that was still cross counting rapidly & decarboned cylinders & used 91 octane & guaranteed to pass gas additive. Retested & still failed for high NOX but readings reduced (828 & 1030). After reading the review on this sensor being the factory replacement & other brand oxygen sensors not working correctly, I decided to install this NGK sensor & cross my fingers. Took my Jeep to a different smog shop who properly preconditioned the engine & catalytic converter to operating temperature & it passed with flying colors. NOX was 308 at 15mph & 138 at 25mph. I'm convinced using the OE oxygen sensor made the difference.

Compatibilidad directa con mi xj cherokee 1995, no hubo problema alguno con la instalación, ya tenía como 7 años sin cambiar este sensor, definitivamente era necesario se siente mejor el motor, lo cambié por que algunas veces no hacía bien la combustión el motor y se escuchaban explosiones, recomendado 100%.

Una maravilla, mi Jeep Cherokee XJ 1995 ya andaba gastalona de gasolina, pense cambiarle el sensor aun sin necesitarlo, fue una excelente decisión, el rendimiento de gasolina esta como si la camioneta fuera nueva, se siente mas ligera. Le quedo perfectamente por cierto. Lo recomiendo ampliamente, no se arrepentiran, ahh y el precio, fabuloso.
