Adorable and effective!
This is a really great, tiny controller! I got this specifically for Mariokart on my Switch Lite. It’s so nice to be able to play another way. I still need to figure out how to pair multiple controllers at the same time, but I do believe that it’s possible. The controller is so small that it fits inside my case for my Switch Lite, so it takes up almost no space at all. It’s just as easy to bring it with me on the go as it is to just bring the Switch. It’s very easy to pair, and it typically stays paired after you set it up. Despite its small size, I don’t think that it’s any more difficult to use than the controls on the Switch itself. It’s also a cute color, I have the teal one as well. It doesn’t have all of the controls that the Switch has, so it won’t work well with certain games, but it definitely works well for Mariokart. I would recommend this to anyone who loves gaming and wants a super portable alternative controller.

Tiny Controller Works Well
So far after 3 days of use I love it. It has made playing my GBA emulator a much more enjoyable experience. It paired easily once I read the instructions, for android its B+Start then hold Select. It is small like I wanted, its tiny, probably no wider than your phone screen on the smallest side and maybe an inch and a half tall, I usually wear a Large size glove and this controller is what I expected. For most people if you're looking for a tiny controller this would be what I'd recommend.

The Medical School Underdog
I bought the 8BitDo Zero 2 fully expecting it to be a novelty — something cute, unnecessary, and destined to live in a drawer. Instead, it has become one of the most used study tools I own. If you do Anki (especially if you’re a med student), this thing is dangerous in the best way. Here’s why: clicking spacebar 800 times a day is a fast track to wrist pain and existential dread. This tiny controller lets me lean back, dissociate slightly, and still absolutely demolish my reviews. No desk posture. No laptop hunch. Just buttons, vibes, and spaced repetition. It connects easily via Bluetooth, maps cleanly to Anki, and somehow feels shockingly responsive for something that could disappear into a coat pocket. Once it’s set up, it’s seamless — I forget I’m using it until I realize I’ve done hundreds of cards without wanting to scream. The size is deceptive. Yes, it’s small. Yes, your hands will question it for about five minutes. And then your brain adapts and suddenly this feels correct. I can review while standing, pacing, lying on the floor, or staring into the void after missing yet another “easy” question. If you’re thinking: “I can just use my keyboard” “This seems unnecessary” “I don’t need another gadget” That’s what I said too. And I was wrong. This doesn’t replace studying — it removes friction, which is half the battle. Anything that makes Anki easier to start, easier to finish, and less physically annoying is worth it. Tiny. Mighty. Joy-inducing. 5/5 — would absolutely buy again, and would recommend to anyone who lives in Anki.

Good, not great
It’s hard to not like this. It’s tiny and functional. Great for playing older games on emulators, but not for all games. Like, great for Civilization or a turn-based rpg. Not great for Street Fighter II or Super Mario World or games that required speed and precision. I love this brand. I have one of their Xbox controllers and it’s amazing. I also got rid of this one and bought a more expensive one that’s shaped like a snes controller but with analog sticks. That thing is great. Great for RPG’s, not so great for platformers or fighting games.

Zero 2 for my keys!
For my particular use case, this little guy is perfect. I find that I have some down time at work or school and I always find myself left with nothing to do. I don't want to lug around yet another full size controller so I figured I'd get this and try to attach it to my keys and have a quick release setup. If anyone else wants to do the same, I recommend buying a small spool of silver/stainless wire. You will need it to make a mini keyring so you can attach it to a larger key ring with a quick release. This is because regular sized key rings don't fit. Basically all you have to do is wrap the wire around a screwdriver and cut off the end of the wire and you have yourself a little custom made keyring. I never have to remember to bring a controller. The Zero 2 itself is an art piece and looks great even if I'm not using it. And if I need to use it, I just kick open the stand on my phone, open up Retroarch, unhook the Zero 2 and I'm happily gaming away! The controller is really small and light. All the buttons are perfectly functional with the exception of the shoulder buttons. The controller is too small of you need regular access to the shoulder buttons. However, for most games, shoulder button access are not time sensitive, so it doesn't get in the way of your own survival. If I had one complaint, it would be that the gamepad turns on with a single press of the start button. I think it would be better if you had to hold it down for a few seconds instead. I find myself seeing the gamepad turning on at random times. Small gripe since I know they can fix this with a firmware update and I hope they do. Overall, if you need a gamepad for on the go and on your key ring, this is the best possible option that I am aware of.

faulty device and bad customer service
it was good for anki when it worked. but it always disconnects and will not reconnect despite many efforts and technolgoical interventions such as forgetting the device, reprogramming the buttons, etc. it is so flimsy and cheaply made that it should not be costing $20 when it definitely only cost 30 cents to make. there is a one year warranty so i reached out to customer service, and they sent me a file to update the remote. however, the file only works on windows computers and i have a mac and when i brought up this issue, the customer service guy told me "You can ask a friend who owns WIN7/10/11 for help. These operations can only be done with WINDOWS". Genuinely what kind of response is this it is so unprofessional and as a struggling student i don't want to deal with finding someone who has a compatible computer, asking them to download an unknown file, just to update my remote. very unhelpful and unprofessional and i guess the warranty is not being honored. would not recommend

Tiny but Mighty: A Retro Gamer’s Travel Companion
I picked up the 8BitDo Zero 2 mostly out of curiosity—it's so tiny I almost thought it was a toy. But after spending some time with it, I have to admit, it’s a surprisingly capable little controller. I use it mainly for retro games on my Switch and occasionally for emulators on my PC, and it performs better than I expected given the size. The buttons have a satisfying click to them, and despite its micro form factor, the layout doesn’t feel cramped. It connected easily via Bluetooth, and battery life has been excellent. I’ve gone several sessions without needing a charge. I also really like the nostalgic SNES-inspired color scheme—it looks great and feels fun to use. That said, I wouldn’t recommend it for intense gaming sessions or modern action-heavy games. It’s just too small to stay comfortable for long periods, and it’s not ideal for games that need precise analog input. But as a travel-sized controller or a backup for simple 2D platformers and classic games, it’s perfect. If you’re into retro gaming or just want a pocket-sized controller for on-the-go use, the Zero 2 definitely punches above its weight.

It's good quality, just a niche product (either ornamental or a specific type of gamer)
First off, it's not a bad controller by any means, provided you go into your purchase knowing that: 1. It only has limited buttons, so don't expect to play most games. 2. It's really small (fits in the palm of the hand) so it would work for kids, but probably not adults It was very responsive and was able to do what it says it's supposed to do. It has USB C which is fantastic for the price. I just don't see this device being very useful for most gaming since it's got limited buttons compared to current gaming consoles.

Always gets disconnected while playing Nintendo
Terrible! Always get discounted when I’m playing games on Nintendo switch. Also it is missing SL and SR buttons, but instead it has L and R. For multiplayer in switch only SL and SR is useful. There’s not motion control

Good
I have been using it for the past year, so far so good. Easy to charge, easy to use. I bought it for my Anki Application which came pretty handy.
