Was super easy to put together. And looks super cool. Everything arrived in Great Condition. Watched a tutorial on YouTube. Thankfully there was extra screws tho because some stripped. Had to kinda rip off the original casing by force. It was the last screw. By the SD card. Luckily the screw hole stayed in tact. Lmao. Oh and another thing. I had to take it back off cause one of the mesh screens kept lifting up. Make sure to thoroughly press them into place. Happy tinkering folks. extremeRate rules!

I bought this in 2019 and it was great to install and I loved the look! However, now in 2024 I've had to change it out due to concerning cracking. As I removed the backing I noticed more damage than I could see on the surface which is my second pic showing 2 small pieces that used to be attached to the whole. I had quite a time digging them out of my console. The kickstand is meh, I never needed to use it anyway (I don't know anyone who does lol). My Nintendo Switch is adult owned and I am very gentle with my electronics so it was always in a dock or a hardcase during travel. I'm not sure if 4 years is bad or good for this type of thing, but I thought I'd share my experience. Not recommended for rough players :p

I love this product. It is nearly perfect. These are so similar structurally to the OEM backplate that they are super easy to install. They look and feel great. The only real issue I had with mine was that the kickstand is a little loose*, but I did not have with the other kit that I purchased so I feel like mine might just be somewhat faulty. The only minor complaints with these is that they don't put the speaker cover and foam pieces on before shipping them and that the game card cover isn't included/preinstalled. I get that these are small, cost saving steps that the customer can do themselves in less than 5 minutes but it just seems silly that they would manufacturer these products so well but not take those few additional steps to make the process easier. Those issues are so minor and subjective that I'm still giving this item a 5 star rating as it's very easy to install with minimal experience. Altogether it may have taken 15 minutes to change my Switch from stock to unique. I contacted eXtremeRate and they sent an entire replacement kit for the problem I had with the kickstand. It arrived very quickly and the kickstand in the replacement kit was perfect. Their customer service is top notch!

Installation isn't the easiest due to Nintendo's use of JIS 000 screws that strip easily and eXtremeRate supplying a PH00 with the shell for these screws, but, once you have it installed, the transparent color adds a unique look to the console. Just make sure to screw in slowly and not to over tighten the screws, otherwise you risk cracking the shell.

When I got this I was a little daunted but I'm happy to say it's the EASIEST MOD EVER. You simple apply the adhesive grill to the inside of the new shell, add a couple self sticking foam spacers, and remove a couple (less than 6) easily accessible screws from your current switch to remove the original backing. Unscrew the kickstand holder (one screw) and another for the rubber cartridge dust cover. Apply them to the new backing, screw everything in and BAM! FINISHED. It really gives it a slick look, I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone who wants a look other than the boring black. True story, I had some questions (about the kickstand) and the company answered the next day so kudos to them for that, that's rare on amazon.

This replaced an original Switch back cover well and was easy to install. It did not come with instructions, but I was able to figure it out easily without any trouble. The kit came with a screwdriver w/bits and replacement screws which were very helpful. The screwdriver has both the three point bit and a phillips head which saved time/effort from looking for and buying the right one. I liked that it came with standard phillips head screws to replace the OEM triangle sockets or just be spares since they're easy to lose.
