Global Babies

One of my toddler’s favorite books! Babies and toddlers love looking at pictures of other babies, and this book does so in a way that celebrates babies from many different cultures. I also love how short the sentences are because it actually keeps my toddler’s attention. She can sit through the whole book without wiggling! This would be an excellent gift for a baby shower, and I think it is a must have for every baby’s book collection.

I know that babies like to look at other babies, but this book is mesmerizing to my one-year-old. Ever since he was about six months old he has loved to flip through this book. There are hardly ANY words, but the photos are close-ups of children from around the world and he LOVES looking at their eyes and smiles. Oftentimes, he even picks this one up himself and "pretends" to read it. A great find for any parent - and a great shower gift too! Gender neutral!

I have gifted this book many times at baby showers. I have heard back about how much the babies have loved the book. For one child, it was the book that could always stop her from crying! Beautiful phots

After we received this as a baby shower gift 9 years ago we are still purchasing it for baby shower after baby shower. The pictures are endearing, the quality enduring lots of baby handling, and we consider it an investment in the global perspective of a young person.

When I put this book and a bunch of her favorite toys in front of her, she always grabs the book. This is the only book she keeps flipping back and forth through (with a little help). I think the fact that babies at that age are fascinated with faces, and that they cannot really relate yet to drawings in other books makes this a winner. I like the diversity to kids in the book, and even though it shows the babies in traditional clothing, it is not overly stereotypical. Extra points to have two babies from the US: one native american, one white.

I got this book because my little guy (6 months old) is fascinated with faces, particularly other babies. The book is very pretty, with colorful photos of babies from around the world. My little guy likes it, but it's not his favorite book. The book is a little large for him to comfortably hold on his own, and many of the pictures are too busy, and distract from the children's faces. It will probably be more interesting to him when he is older. So if you're looking for a book of faces for a young baby this is probably not it. But if you're looking for a colorful book showing children in traditional clothing from many different countries, it's fantastic. UPDATE: Little guy is now a little over 1.5 years old, and still likes this book. He doesn't pull it out daily, but frequently enough. He now likes to point out details about the children, ones that are wearing hats, ones that are being carried, ones that are smiling. I also purchased the bilingual Spanish/English version of this book and took it with us to Honduras, where we were able to engage with other children in Spanish and talk about families around the world, which was very sweet.

My one year old son is obsessed with this book. He picks this book every night before bed to read together. The photographs are bright, colorful, interesting, and beautiful. Definitely a hit in our family!

Bought my fiorst one at a Fair Trade shop in DC. loved it and wanted to give it to another baby som ordered it from Amazon. A wonderful baby present and so mych nicer than a card that would just be thrown away. Photos are wondeful.

Great pictures about babies. Like they say there is 2 photos (as i can remember) for usa babies. Wish they put different nationality

This is a favourite book to gift to a new baby. I get positive feedback about how much the babies ( when a little older) love this book. Babies love faces and so they love this book. It is very well made and photographs are beautiful

I show this book every morning to my 7month old baby to introduce her to different babies in the world... and she really enjoys it... we greet them good morning every day... and sometimes she wants to kiss them good morning 😃 too...

Our two-year-old granddaughter can't get enough of this one. Such sweet babies.

I bought this for my baby hoping to find friendly baby faces smiling back at me from the pages. Instead the babies are quite sad looking and I dont feel they represent the world equally. USA has two babies meanwhile there is only 1 baby from all of Europe. Great idea for a book but could be a lot better.
