Good detail of the roads less traveled as well as main and secondary boarder crossings
I bought this map for planning a motorcycle trip thru Patagonia. The level of detail is good, boarder crossings between Chile and Argentina are well indicated and there is good coverage of secondary and the roads less traveled. The color contrast of the map is good, so it can be read easily thru the clear window of a tank bag while riding, even in bright sun or on cloudy days. I'd recommend this map to others, it is good quality at a fair price.

Another Terrific National Geographic Map!
I’m using this map to plan a trip to Chile/Patagonia and it’s fantastic. What sets this apart from most maps is the paper quality - waterproof and it doesn’t tear which is essential. Because it’s such a long country, it needs 2 vertical panels on each side of the map so I’m always flipping from one side to another. See my example in the photo for 2 sections on 1 side. The only thing that I wish it did was to be printed in a way that I could cut it and tape 2 sections together but then the other side doesn’t match up. I know, it’s hard to describe what I mean but using it requires a lot of flipping use it for planning purposes. But to make it easy to know what panel to use , the map shows which section of Chile is being shown. See the upper left of my photos.

Great details and easy to access
Purchased this map for 7 weeks of travel through Chile from Santiago to Punta Arenas. It was an exceptional help and a good hands on visual for trip planning. Very durable and well laid out. I have always preferred a fold out map over a little screen on a cell phone for my detailed trip planning of great lengths and distances. Funny how when I have my maps extended other intrepid travelers gather around. A great purchase!!

well made map
so many map choices but we were really happy with this one. an electronic map just doesn't give the perspective a nice old school one dies and can't go wrong with National Geographic!

Mostly helpful but bring a backup.
This map was mostly helpful but for Chile-Patagonia we still used another paper map and GPS. The area is rural and roads are constantly changing. Bring a back up to check your routes to be safe.

A good buy
Chile is a very long, but very narrow country. This excellent map allows you to see the various regions, the towns/parks that are in them, and how they relate to other parts of the country. The paper is of excellent quality. My husband already spilled coffee on it, and it is as good as new. I definitely recommend this product if you want to take a trip and REALLY be able to plan it, and then know where you are when you get there. Well thought out and well produced.

Solid Map!
Most maps are on thin paper that tears the first time you attempt to close or reorient it. This one is on high grade paper and can withstand a lot of punishment and stay in one piece. Worth the price.!
