Good as new!
I have a 2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer with the "clicking rear A/C" problem that seems to be so common with these vehicles. I wasn't sure if it was the blend door or the floor/roof vent actuator, but I read that they were both the same part, and also figured that if one had one, the other one probably wouldn't be far behind, so I ordered two of this part and replaced them both. Total job took about an hour, most of which was removing all of the trim panels and three of the seat belt anchor points needed to gain access to the rear A/C unit (which is behind the trim panel in the passenger side of the cargo area). Once the panels were off, one of the actuators was held in by 4 screws and the other with 3. I removed the screws, unplugged the harness from the old part, removed the old actuator, put in the new one (be sure to line up the grooves on the shaft with the hole that they plug in to), screw it in, plug the harness in, put the trim panels back (much quicker than taking them off), anchor the seat belts, and it's fixed. My rear A/C now works good as new and is quiet. I've heard the Ford dealer charges anywhere between $350 and $750 (or more) to do this job, so for about $80 for both parts and an hour of my time, not to mention the satisfaction of fixing it myself, it was well worth it. Anyone with moderately handy skills and a few tools could take care of this job in their garage or driveway. I highly reccommed this product!

Broken Internal Parts
The new actuator was broken. One of the gears was missing some of teeth . So i used the good gear from my old one . It worked fine for about one month.

Buy OEM whenever possible
Lessen learned, the hard way. When ours failed I ordered a generic replacement to save a few bucks. It arrived quickly but was Dead On Arrival. Gotta love Amazon's return policy. Spent the extra few bucks for the Motorcraft for replacement. Works as expected. Doing the job once before made installation a breeze. 8mm ratcheting wrench and 8mm socket on 1/4 ratchet. FYI... these pry bars are must have if you work on vehicles.... https://www.amazon.com/Pittsburgh-Piece-Nylon-Installer-Straight/dp/B07GSLVSLQ/ref=sr_1_5?crid=13V8EDU0Q4UC1&keywords=nylon+pry+bar+installer+kit&qid=1677870736&sprefix=Nylon+pry+bar%2Caps%2C108&sr=8-5

The Part Fits and Appears to Work - Hopefully it Lasts
This was purchased for a Ford Expedition, rear heat/cooling unit. There are two actuator's, one controls the flow of air between the roof and the floor, the other controls heat vs AC. At first glance both appear to be the same but they are different and not interchangeable. This actuator model controls the flow of air between the roof and floor. It has a cross shaped drive shaft. The heat/cooling actuator has a D shaped drive shaft. Amazon sells another Motorcraft actuator model (YH-1744) that I thought to be the D shaped drive shaft. It was not, it is the same as this actuator so I returned it. After researching I discovered that Amazon does not offer the Motorcraft part with the D shaped shaft. I found it elsewhere, at Rockau**. It is part number YH-1767. This is the second time I replace actuators. Clearly it's a poor design but fortunately they aren't too hard to replace. I tried the Dornan's and they did not last too long, about a year. Hopefully the Motorcraft's will last longer.

Super

Don't order the wrong part, double check
I ordered this part from amazon rather than pay twice as much for the same part at my local auto parts store. I was definitely not going to buy a cheaply made(china) version of this part as it is really difficult to replace....very tight spaces. Unfortunately for me, this was not the right part for my regular 2004 ford explorer xlt with manual temperature controls and no aux heater....luckily I was smart enough to test it before installing, i was pretty bummed when I plugged it in and nothing happened. I was able to pull my old one apart and see that my plastic gears were damaged. I was also able to pull this new one apart and very easily changed the gears and was back in business with my old part...its not ideal, but its way better than doing a return and then trying to find the correct part.

Same part number as original on my car
It's not an easy part to replace, that It's not sellers fault, but after all tha work, part didn't respond, i connect to plug and never work, basically before place it i new was damage. But could be just my luck, so doesn't mean it's a bad part or bad seller. And also it was same part number as one original on my car, so that's why i know was just bad luck for me.
