Pencils that make me appear better than I am
These are great pencils! I was a dedicated Mars Lumograph user till I tried these tombows. I do still love my other pencils but adding these to the mix just enhances my ability to create better art. The graphite is smooth & creamy, eventhe H or harder lead pencils. If you teach yourself to rotate the pencil as you draw you will find you keep the point & don't need to sharpen as often therefore getting a longer lasting pencil & you will want these babies to last because you won't want to find yourself waiting for your next order & being without. This is the 3rd or 4th set that I've bought. They also sell a set here on amazon with a mono zero eraser stick which I also will never be without. knock on laminate. If you enjoyed my review and feel it helped you to make a decision about purchasing, [...]. I take reviewing very seriously, money doesn't just fall in our laps. I want to know as much about my purchased product as possible before I hit that magic 1 click button, wasted money is just not an option. I don't want you to waste your money either, if I can help you to decide if a product will be a good choice, or even if it is not the right fit, it makes me feel good too. I am also interested in getting invited to be a part of the vine program. To do so you are judged by how helpful your reviews are, [...]. Thank You!

DOES INCLUDE SHARPENER AND ERASER 2019
Older reviews of these pencils complain no pencil sharpener or eraser. I got these today, Feb 18, 2019 and I got exactly what the photo shows. Now, some complain they are made in Vietnam. Who cares where they are made, the leads in them are just superb, hands down awesome. Another reviewer compared them to Staedler Lumograph Black pencils. Well there is no comparison to be made. The Lumograph Black pencils are not pure graphite, they are a mix of carbon and graphite, and they are my favorite pencils now. Main reason is there is NO graphite shine, the Tombows are pure graphite and shine as bad as any graphite pencils do. The Lumograph Black pencils give a deep rich black to die for. The Lumograph pencils are compatible with the Tombows, so there is no resistance between the materials, they will both blend into eachother without any kind of waxy resist. Tombows are GREAT pencils, if they make a black graphite type pencil I will buy those too. There is NO REASON not to buy these.

Tombow Mono VS Staedtler Mars Lumograph
I like both the thombow mono and mars Lumograph, you cant go wrong with either set I used medium weight 70lb drawing paper for testing both sets come with 12 pencils of the same hardness level , 4H, 3H, 2H, H, HB, F B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B Tombow Mono come in plastic packaging with 12 unsharpened pencils, eraser and small sharpener Mars Lumograph some with 12 pre sharpened pencils in a nice metal tin case Tombow Mono hexagon barrel is slightly larger then the Mars Lumogrph Mono has pencil grade marked on 4 of the 8 side, Mars Lumograph Is marked on all 8 mono grade is marked with gold over white, Mars is easier to see quickly marked with white over black both have a nice barrel finish both sharpen well, although mono has a slightly rougher wood after sharpening with the hand sharpener it came with. both sets feel the same on paper. very smooth with the softer grades all the way up to 2H, 3H and 4H started to feel a little scratchy on the paper as expected for the hardness. both sets blended the same overall both sets are comparable to each other. it really comes down to what you want in the set. the Tombow Mono is a bit cheaper but you also get an eraser and sharpener. the mars lumograph comes with a nice metal tin for a few $ more. Because of the nice metal tin i keep the mars Lumograph on my desk and use them at home. I have the Tombow mono set in my Derwent Travel bag with my Charcoal pencils for on the go drawing.

Professional Grade Soft Pencils
So far during my years in school these have been one of the best and cheapest options for high quality drawing pencils. All of my drawing professors have highly recommended them and for good reasons, they're affordable soft pencils that get the job done. They include pencils from H all the way to 6B which is enough to get a good value drawing done.

and has been very satisfied with the quality
I have been using Mono 100 for a while, and has been very satisfied with the quality. The quality between Mono 100 and Hi Uni is pretty comparable. One thing that I loved Mono 100 is the thicker lead, which is useful for drawing, and a big advantage over Hi Uni. The price difference between MONO Professional and Mono 100 is generally pretty small. Since Amazon was having a sale on it and Pro is about 1/2 of the Mono 100 price, I decided to buy a dozen to try. The quality of graphite core of pro is very close to 100, with 100 being just a little smoother. The big complaint I have is the much thinner core and a drop in the wood quality when sharpening. The bottom line is that at 1/2 price, Pro line is worth buying. But when the price difference between Pro and 100 (or Hi Uni) is only 20~30% ($12 v. $16 per dozen), I have a hard time choosing this one.

Great pencils. I always use Steadler but a friend of mine was working with those and noticed they were very black. They work fine. I recomand if you want darker than usual graphite pencils.
