good intro book
This book was designed for a training class. You can read it front to back and get a good introduction to data storage technology. If you already have experience or training, this book will be too basic for you.Coming from Hitachi, most examples feature that company's products. And many sections seem like they were originally written in another language (probably Japanese). As a result, I had to read the same passage multiple times, and work around grammatical errors, in order to get the meaning.

Good text on storage basics.
A well presented text on the basics of data storage technology. It focuses mainly on disk storage medias which is pretty mainstream these days. I work with archival tape products and even though this book doesn't touch on that area, I still learned quite a bit that will be beneficial. Well thought out presentation and easy to follow information. Worth a space in my library.

Easy to read and detailed
Though English is not my native language, the book was totally understandable and very easy to read. Information is well structured and every topic is nicely explained.Good guide to traditional proprietary storage systems and principles of keeping data safe and available.

Kindle version is over-priced.
I bought the Kindle version in September 2013 for less than $21. The current price is a little nuts for a Kindle book. Other than that, it's very helpful for storage newbies.

for who have no idea about storage
It's a concept book to let me know the storage world. A lot of definitions embedded in documents, like a story book.
