Candy Buttons, 1lb Bag of Buttons by Necco

This candy takes me back 60 years and brings a smile. My grand-kids enjoy them also.

I ate a lot of Candy Buttons as a child. I purchased these for a candy buffet for my granddaughter's 17th birthday party. I thought they would be a fun addition ~ which they were. There's about 100 strips in the 1 pound bag, so plenty for my purpose. They arrived in perfect condition and tasted just how I remember. I must be getting old, though, because the teenagers didn't know what they were! Even some of the Generation X adults present at the party didn't know what they were! I was happy to introduce them to candy buttons and they all loved them! They were a hit!

I've bought these 3 times in the last few months. The first two were perfect, exactly what the classic candy buttons I used to have and love as a kid, this last time I bought them and received them a few days ago, they were completely different. Disgusting. NOT the ones I got before and the ones I was expecting. Totally different flavor, color, packaging, everything. SO HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED THAT I CANT RETURN OR GET MONEY BACK. These aren't what I wanted or what I received in the recent past. They're really disgusting, they're just trash now and I cant get money back or get what I actually ordered/wanted sent to me instead? SO DISAPPOINTED.

I remember these from my childhood. I remember losing a tooth trying to work the candy buttons off the page. So these are pure nostalgia for me.New ones are just like the other, and you eat paper with them. I discovered the trick is to dip them in water and let them sit a minute, then they slide off the paper. This is only good if you don't want the paper. Personally, I was tired of it.

One pound is 32 strips. Seems a bit pricey, was expecting more for $24. Considering I can go to 5 below and get 50 strips for $25.

I was worried about the price and quantity of these when reading the description. I mean who really knows how many candy buttons makes 1lb?! You get a lot of buttons with this order. They all arrived in one sealed bag and there are a lot of strips of buttons! I just needed them for cake decoration and couldn't find them locally so I had to order from Amazon. Good amount but I still think they were a bit expensive. I guess I'll use the rest for birthday goody bags.

This product was all I'd hoped for, and delivered quickly and in perfect condition. I ordered the candy to give to our customers as a kind of celebration of Christmas as it was when we were young. The candy was a huge success, tasted great and has given us an idea to help give our visitors a little thank you for coming into our gallery. It was a really fun idea that we will pursue further and will be certainly ordering more from this company. Thanks for helping us to have an unexpectedly delightful holiday experience!

I can't say these are my favorite candy, but they were a fun, nostalgic treat for a party. The blue buttons tasted somewhat lemony, and the pink ones had a bubblegum or cotton candy type flavor that I didn't care for (but my 3 year old did).The other nice thing about candy buttons is that they take a little more time to eat than most candies, and my son had to use some fine motor skills to peel them off the paper.
