These flakes dissolved very quickly and easily and made a very smooth shellac very quickly. I did use a coffee grinder first, but the shellac was clean and smooth much quicker than expected. It's produced a nice finish and a beautiful color. I'd buy this again.

This product worked as it was designed. This was my first time using shellac flakes and was surprised how easy it was to make and use.

Just follow the included instructions and this Shellac works great You almost can’t do it wrong.

I mixed mine in denatured alcohol, they dissolved fully in a couple of hours, I've had no insect bits, and the finish has looked really really nice. I used them on a sapele/maple stool(see the picture, used Boiled linseed oil first, covered with this shellac) and I have plans to use it on a walnut bed frame. The test piece on the walnut looked really nice and drew out the color without over darkening color like an oil(my wife likes the look for raw walnut vs oiled). Also I used a 1lb cut and used thin coats to build up to about 6-7 total coats. Sanded lightly with 400 grit about 2 coats and 4 coats in. Each coat dried in about 5 minutes, but I gave them a couple of hours to set on the sanding coats just to be safe. Overall really happy with the product and will definitely buy again.

This cost a bit more than other similar products, but I'm extremely happy with the quality. These are well worth the price.
