This makes dads lives so much easier

Worked fine for what it is, but the length was slightly off from BSA - had to sand back and we lost some of the details. The axle dimensions were fine. When sanding back the front of the car, we also had to remove some of the front of the "hood" as well. BSA now requires that the bottom of the car has the farthest "point" with the detailing you are at risk of having 2 points if you don't sand the hood.

The grooves for the wheels wasn't deep enough so we had to make them deeper so the wheels/nails didn't pop right off. The wood is NOT the same as a Scout rated derby car- so it split and cracked easily. I have been making derby cars for 6 years (a few sons in scouts) and there's nothing worse than watching your son cry because his car isn't working out.DO NOT BUY THIS CAR! It is not the same type of wood as scout-rated derby car!!!

Easy to use very nice design

This is the first time doing this and I was advised by another parent to buy a pre-cut car. My son picked this pre-cut car and we spent quality time decorating it vs cutting it. I'm so glad for this tip and glad we spent the time where my son enjoyed the most instead of cutting the car. I recommend this pre-cut car with BSA approved wheels and purchased another one to make another car.
