Quick relief
I am so glad I invested in this purchase! It was a bit pricey, but I have tried other options that didn’t help at all. If you deal with recurring ingrown toenails, trust me, it’s worth it! When I first got this, my right big toe was a little inflamed on the one side and a bit sore. I put the device on and tightened it for a few minutes, I didn’t follow all the directions to soak it because it was already late at night. I took it off and I didn’t notice the pain anymore. The next few days I checked the side of my toe for inflammation/pain and it seemed to have resolved. My left toe started bothering me today and I noticed that it was inflamed and sore. I put the device on and tightened it, soaked it for 20 min, but noticed the inflammation was still there and painful. The other side of my toenail seemed to have flattened out. I decided to put on the little metal spring thing to get some relief. It was a painful to get the hook on the inflamed side of the toe, but it definitely provided some relief, which is all I need at the moment. I think this is the answer to my recurring ingrown toenails issue. I really don’t want to go to the podiatrist to get a big needle to the toe if I don’t have to.

It might not be a permanent solution
The Kit is easy to use and works if you are patient, but unfortunately it flattened my toenail to the point it looked weird, and as soon as I would remove the retainer, the nail would curve back again after couple of hours. Also, the nail retainers won’t stay in place for long, it would come right out especially at night. Perhaps if you are patient enough and can handle to wear the retainer for couple of weeks or even months, it will work. Unfortunately, I wasn’t patient enough to test it out. Although I am not sure if it is a permanent solution to the problem or just a temporary solution.

It Works!
It's a weird looking little contraption but it worked for me. I found it a little hard to get on and off my toe (I'm not very flexible). Also, I think my toenails might be a bit thick because I had to dig a little around the edges of the toenail to get the hooks to fit (luckily, I took an otc pain reliever about an hour before-hand just to make sure it wasn't painful since this thing looks a little like a medieval torture device. Glad I did.). That worked but I still did found it a bit difficult to get the device to attach and stay. Once attached, I did everything just like the video said and sure enough, the pain was gone - for about a week. Then it came back but only slightly. I went ahead and gave myself another treatment with this tool and I now seem to be 100% fixed - no pain whatsoever. I feel like this device may have saved me from needing surgery, so that's a big win. There are some little bands that one can use as a sort of follow-up but they didn't stay on my toe, which is ok since I didn't seem to need them. The one improvement I might suggest is to make the little plastic pieces fit more securely on the device. They fell off easily when I was trying to attach the device to my toe and that was frustrating. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who is considering more drastic, costly and/or painful options. It works. A little wonky to get it attached but yes, it really works well.

Amazing!! But can be a complicated process
Amazing product, soooo satisfied!! When I first read the (very thorough and detailed) instructions, I was intimidated. I had gel polish on my big toes remaining that I wasn't willing to work to hard to remove at home, so I knew that could be a problem. I think the reason people might find this process difficult is that not everyone has a lot of experience doing nails or getting their nails done. For the adhesive in the package to work you have to have a dry surface that has been roughed up a bit with a file, but free from that debris. The instructions say to soak your foot in order to fit the contraption, leave it for a bit, and then there is a very important blow drying step (you can air dry, but it has to get dry, that is the key). There's a step to rough it up with the provided nail file and then a very important alcohol swab step. This is required to get a good bond for the glue! When it comes to actually gluing the brace on... it's tricky. For people with low mobility or who are inflexible, this can be very difficult to do on your own. You have to keep the brace very still after you've set the glue and hold it for a bit, and if you can't reach or get a good angle, you might not get the best bond. The whole process took me 30 min by myself..I felt immediate pressure relief BUT I had severe toe pain for 1.5 days after. I'm sure this is because my toe was already pretty inflamed before I started, but if you think about it... your body is also filling a gap left by your toenail, so maybe that's also part of the pain? Anyway, after that initial time I WAS PAIN FREE AND IN BASICALLY 2 DAYS MY TOENAIL WAS FLAT AND CHILL. Honestly, I didn't know my left toe was supposed to look like that (see pic). I don't have a before pic, but it was red and angry and painful and similar to my right toe. I'm going to do my right toe next. I wish I had done my left sooner. Of note, about a week in for left toe, one of the sides came up because the gel polish underneath finally gave up. The fix was super easy, and I just put a little more glue down and held for a minute. Piece of cake and no pain.

This was not a simple DIY solution but with a bit of patience and persistence it is certainly doable. The nail corrector "torture device" took three attempts to grab each side of the nail once it had been soaked in warm water and Epson salts. It was surprising and gratifying to see how well it worked. Once you get the hang of stabilizing the centre piece and ensuring both hooks are fastened it worked surprising well to flatten the nail. The next challenge is to attach both sides of the retainer spring- not easy but certainly doable. It remains to be seen if this solves my issue temporarily or permanently, but I'm very happy with the initial result. The process revealed a surprising "divot" in the side of my toe where the nail was eating into it. Not much inflammation but enough of a gouge that I've applied some Neosporin just to be safe. I'm curious to see how the included toe caps hold up over the next week or two with showers (and hot tub soaks) Overall, I'm initially very satisfied with this despite the difficulties in using it. It performed as promised and avoided a doctor visit. Whether that will last or not remains to be seen.

Although the pictures show 26 items in the box, there's no nail file and no toe caps included. Try to contact the seller but receive no response. The product itself looks good, but the misleading pictures and description and the fact that the seller didn't bother to response don't deserve more than 1 star.

This product is a great idea, and is well made. The problem is, that it is hard to manipulate to attach it to your toe. If you don't have someone to help you with it, don't get it, unless you have a tremendous about of patience, and determination to affix it to your toe.

This thing looks like it could work. Just be careful not to hurt yourself with it. I tried it and nicked my big toe's nail underside. It bled a little. Maybe I shouldn't do this alone, but I feel like I should. All in all quality is okay, I'll try it some time later.
