Exceeded Expectations!
I read all the reviews before ordering this and was a bit apprehensive about a couple issues. Received it yesterday and got it put together immediately. The instructions were ok, not great, but it's not that complicated to put together. Of the concerns that struck me from the previous reviews - here are my observations:Paint vs stain. Yes, it's painted, but it's like a thick plastic coating and it looks fine! I wasn't shopping for fine furniture and this looks great and I'm sure it will pick up some scratches and dings along the way - haven't had a child-focused item that didn't!Regarding screws coming loose - I can see one reason that would make this seem to be true. The washers fit very tightly into the holes meant for the screws to countersink into. If you don't tighten the screw enough to bring the washer firmly down into the hole, it will soon look like a screw came loose. In reality, the screw was never tightened all the way and the washer just eventually worked it's way down. Solution - be sure to get the washer all the way down into the hole. Try placing the washer into the hole, place the screw on the washer upside down and lightly tap on the end of the screw to drive the washer to the bottom. Turn the screw over and snug it securely against the washer. That is highly unlikely to come loose.Bottom line, this is a great product - just take the time to put it together correctly! I also agree with putting anti skid tape on the steps. Easy to do, not a have to have, but seems like a prudent addition. Excellent addition for the kids in the kitchen!

Great stool at a great price
This stool is almost half the price of the other brands, yet just as solid and sturdy. It was packed well, so arrived safely, went together easily, and all the screw holes lined up. (It did have a small wobble, but nothing that a felt dot under the foot didn't fix.) It's attractive enough to leave out in the open, so no worrying about a place to store it. The height is perfect for little ones to work at the counter or sink. It's only big enough for one child at a time to use at a work station, so if you have 2 kids, buy 2. You will want to buy some ANTI SKID TAPE for the step and platform, just as a safety precaution. It's a smooth finish, so socks or smooth soled shoes could slide on the platform.

Sturdy, no wobble, great way to involve kids in the kitchen
After about a month of frequent use, I am still very happy with this purchase. The grippy pads are nice to have on the feet of the stool, so I don't feel like it's going to slip while my little guy is crawling into it. I haven't had any issues with paint chipping yet, but I could see that this could be a problem after years of use. Like other reviewers, I did have one hole that didn't line up so I couldn't put the final screw in, but that's just for the bottom step and it's fully secure with other screws in 3 other spots so it doesn't affect the structural integrity and the step is still plenty secure. Overall my little guy loves it and I'm happy with this purchase.

Awesome step stool!
My toddler loves this step stool. I love this step stool. Everybody is happy and she can help make dinner and see what mommy and daddy are doing on the counter top. She can easily get in and out of the stool and the nonskid stickers keep her from sliding it across the floor to get to different things. The packaging was great, the instructions were easy to follow (that’s saying a lot from me), and it was super easy to assemble. I made the mistake of trying to put the step in the wrong screw holes and thought it measured wrong. I looked back at then instructions and realized I read them wrong and corrected it. All of this was done with my 2 1/2 year old running around and trying to climb on me, if that says anything about how easy it was to put together.

I highly recommend this product for its quality, ease of assembly, and size
Here is my review of the stool for Marissa.Unicoo Stool Review:I purchased this as a gift for my granddaughter for Christmas. I highly recommend this product for its quality, ease of assembly, and size. These days it is difficult to find a pre-fab product that assembles easily without the issues of mis-cut pieces and/or mis-threading of screws. I want to thank UNICOO for defying the status quo and making a quality product that has perfectly cut pieces and pre-drilled screw holes which allowed for a frustration free assembly in less than half an hour. The pieces all fit together as they were intended and all the pre-drilled screw holes were properly threaded.Do not let the weight of the shipping box worry you. As packaged for shipping, the box was heavy. Once assembled, the stool is extremely sturdy and at the same time it is not extremely heavy or difficult to move/manage. The stool is a convenient size to fit in my daughter’s relatively small kitchen. The stool is the right height for the kitchen counters so that my granddaughter can be involved any cooking, baking or crafts. The only area for improvement was that some of the wooden pieces did have minor indentations even though most of the pieces were individually wrapped in sink wrap for shipping. The minor indentations are more noticeable during the assembly process and barely noticeable once the product is assembled.

Poor assembly and extremely slippery
I like the shape of this stool, my 19 month old figured how to get in and out of it very easily, and it’s a great height for the kitchen counters. I’m giving it two stars because I followed the instructions exactly and after it was assembled it tilts back and forth a little bit. It’s not unsafe, but it should be completely steady. Second, the holes drilled in for the bottom step did not line up with the holes on the frame. I laid them next to each other and they were off by about an 1/8th of an inch on one side, so I was only able to screw it in on three of the four points. I myself stepped up and down on it several times in every which way to see that it was still stable, and it is. So again, not really unsafe, it’s still functional, but it was very frustrating during assembly. And third, the coating on the step stool is EXTREMELY slippery. We immediately cut up and old bath mat and stuck it to the step and the top platform so it would be safe for our son to use. It would be completely unsafe if it didn’t have some sort of slip protection on the steps.
