Paris Chic, introduced in 2011, is already a best seller and destined to become a classic. Many other Lampe Berger fragrances can be summarized by a single, dominant note ( Lampe Berger 500ml/16.9 fl Ounce Polynesian Dreams Parfum De Maison = tiare, Lampe Berger 500ml/16.9-Fluid Ounces, Orange Blossom Parfum De Maison = neroli, etc.). Paris Chic, on the other hand, is an elaborate blend that comes across with the complexity and sophistication worthy of a great French perfume house, such as Chanel or Guerlain. Although I'm on the fence about the accuracy of fragrance notes supplied by manufacturers, I do think they can give you an idea of what was intended. Knowing the notes can be helpful if you are thinking of ordering a fragrance on line, unsniffed, and you know some things are absolute deal breakers (for me, it's vanilla). Unlike an actual perfume, your skin chemistry doesn't affect the Lampe Berger. Here are the notes in Paris Chic: Top: Bergamot, grapefruit, morning dew, green notes Middle: Orris, rose bulgare, violet Base: Lychee, clear jasmine, peach, rice powder, amber, white musk Paris Chic isn't easily categorized. Is it fruity, or floral, or aquatic, or green, or musky? Well, it's all those things simultaneously. The notes are all present, yet none of them dominate. It's like listening to a grand symphony, or finding a painting that is so fascinating you never tire of looking at it yet always see it in different ways. Fragrances are subjective; what one person adores, another person abhors. All I can say is that I am a great fan of Paris Chic. I've probably burned through a dozen bottles since discovering it two years ago, and I never tire of it.

I purchased this product untested because woodsy scents are usually a safe bet for me. My husband enjoys this scent but wondered at first whether or not I was using the lamp at all. Pros: Likeable, cozy, warm woods scent, subtle if you prefer that, I find it slightly masculine leaning. Nice for fall or year round. Cons: Too subtle to fill a large space, go through it WAY too quickly with more than 1 lamp. This would be a repeat purchase, but I’m looking for something similar but more intense. I enjoy incense, but my husband and I both suffer from allergies. He also doesn’t enjoy my incense.
