I want to copy my verizon lte sim card to a smaller sized verizon lte sim card so that i can use my note 5 and has the smaller sim. Possible?

Not with the this device. The SIM card reader on the SGT122 will allow access to partial data on the SIM. You will need something else to clone the SIM. Sorry.

Can this be used with an android phone using a micro usb adapter?

Yes but if you are using the smart card reader you will need specialized software on your android phone

What kind of software do you need to use this product with sim cards?

For memory cards, it uses its own software but for ID and SIM cards you have to download the software from the site of each respective card company if available and allowed. I purchased this smart card reader, maily for ID Cards and I downloaded it from our Government Site. Kamal Noor

Does this work with a surface pro?

Yes. Perfectly. I personally use one a Pro 3.
