USB extension sorted.
I needed a way to use my monitor in one room(photo editing etc) , while the pc was in my lounge hooked up to the oled tv for gaming..I had to run a cable up the wall into the ceiling and into and along the loft space into the room (around 15 metres) I tried a couple of active usb extension cables joined via male and female..it seemed to work fine for the keyboard and mouse..but when I turned my speakers on (Razer nomo chroma)via USB...well they worked..then hissed, broke up and just decided to turn themselves off..so I needed something better...done some reading etc etc and came across this little gem..yes it's only 15 metres when it claims to reach so much further (I can't vouch for such a distance using usb) but it works a absolute treat for my speakers, keyboard and mouse all at the same time..I've yet to get the printer involved..but it's looking like there's not any drop in voltage over this distance using the vtop 4 port USB ethernet extender..it really has got my gear working the way I need it to...don't be waisting your hard earned on active cables..get it right first time with the extender over ethernet...yes it's a bit pricey and I wasn't too happy spending this much on a fix for..what seems to be a trivial issue....but it's what's going to sort out your usb /pc distance issues.

Works okay but not as good as I hoped.
I bought 4 of these and using over 15 meter CAT6 run, each port lights up when a device is connected which is good. The issue I have is with a Corsair Virtuoso XT Wireless headset not working when any other device is plugged into the same hub. Must be a bandwidth issue.

Just works! Simples!
Previously struggled with USB over cat 5 devices with multiple drop outs and restarts. This device has been in and running for over 3 weeks now with no restarts and absolutely no issues. It runs 4 devices over a 10m cat 6 cable without issue - including driving a Bluetooth dongle for a headset!Fab purchase!

Reliable network extension for our office - no more WiFi problems!
VTOP 4 Port USB Over Ethernet Network RJ45 Extender 50M - USB 2.0 Line Extender to Cat5e/Cat6 with 4 Port USB 2.0 Hub - for PC & Mac OS (Mental)The device. This is designed to extend the reach of your cabled network where WiFi is not available or unreliable. It comes in two parts, a sender unit that links to the hub and a four-port other end hub with USB 2.0 connectivityBuild quality. The units are very well made with a metal case comes with power units. No cable is supplied so you have to factor this in, a good quality CAT 6 is recommended although CAT 5 will work (but probably not the full 50M)Setup.It is easy to set up, just cable it to the router, run the cable from it to the hub and that’s about it. It can send signal reliably up to 50 M which is very useful in many offices. No drivers were needed, its plug and play.In use.We have used it to run data from our office to the print room and to some backup drives. WiFi was patchy here even with WiFi extenders so we decided to cable across as it was easy to do. We can now send automatic data backups each hour and print without worrying about the WiFi saying everything is offline etc. Being USB 2, it is not the fastest system but our needs are light so it is working well for us. If you are shunting very large files like images etc. I would suggest a USB 3 system. We only move Word documents and some spreadsheets so this is fine for us.It has solved a problem for us and solved it well, no more fiddling around trying to find disconnected WiFi printers and print runs stopping for no reason. Good device.

Very Useful Device/Easy Set-Up
This is a very useful device, albeit not USB 3.0, for extending your network but up to 50m. It come in a brown cardboard box and inside you get:1. 1 x PC Host Unit2. 1 x USB 4-Port Unit3. 1 x USB Male to Male Cable – 1m4. 1 x Power Unit + UK & Travel Adapters5. Quick Start Guide6. 2-Year Warranty if you register with manufacturer. You do not get any ethernet cable with this, so you need to ensure you have one of the right length. Both the units have a metal finish, aren’t too heavy and have a good build quality to them. The host unit has an ethernet port and USB 2.0 port. The receiver unit has an ethernet port, 4 x USB 2.0 ports and a power port. The power cable isn’t overly long, neither is the USB cable. So, you do ned to consider placement.Set-up is very simple indeed. Connect the host to you PC/Server via the supplied USB cable. Connect to 2 units together with your ethernet cable. Power up the receiver and plug in your devices. That’s it! My PC, running Windows 10, recognised the devices instantly.Having set this up, I plugged in an external hard drive to the receiver unit and, in a matter of seconds, my PC was able to pick it up and read/write to it. I transferred a 1gb file across this to the hard drive and it took about 30 seconds to complete. This I thought was quite slow. I tried another file and it was running at around 38Mbps. Way off the stated 480Mbps. This was through a 2m brand new cable. Trying it the other way, from hard drive to pc, the same 1gb file took only a matter of seconds. Over to the IT buffs on this one. There are a couple of downsides for me with this extender. It doesn’t support USB 3.0 or Cat 7 & Cat 8. That aside, it seems to work well and is a great way for me to extend my network within our house and for my daughters to connect their laptops.Good value at £59.99.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative and useful.

fino a 50 metri di cavo cat 6 è perfetta
Funziona davvero bene. Consigliato.
