The Conure Handbook (B.E.S. Pet Handbooks)

Bought book for my cousin who has invested in a Conure Pastot. He finds it interesting reading. Hemlines the various suggestions he can try with his girl.

After researching many books, I chose this to help in getting to know my conure. He/she? (waiting for DNA results to determine the sex) is still at the pet shop, waiting for the perfect cage to arrive before I can take her home. Meanwhile I am "boning up" on all the important info - what foods are best, how to choose an avian vet, how to introduce to other pets, training tips, and many other useful topics. In a few days I get to bring her home. I can't wait! I know that this book will help immensely as we get to bond and know each other. TIP: NEVER feed avocado or chocolate to your conure or other birds.

i have two conures that are just so sweet. A sunburst and a green cheeked named mango and freddy. This book is great for a beginner of conures. In fact if anyone would be intrested in becoming a mom/dad to a conure...buy this book. The book gives you great information before purchasing a conure. I only rate this book 4 star because there is little information on redirecting a conure, but definitly a 5 star for a beginner. I really wish this book was more advanced in conure behavior. They do mention probelms with behavior, however the book does not teach on how redirecting a conure without the bird being scared or angry.

I bought 4 conure books on Amazon and this is one of the best two. My husband read it too and it taught him plenty about these birds and how to care for them. It's great for reference, I definitely recommend it. Get it before you get your bird :)

We received a 17 yr old Conure. This book has been a life saver! Just today I took Dusty to the bird vet because the picture in the book of the Conure's beak didn't match what Dusty's beak looked like. He wasn't getting a good bite on anything and was considered underweight by the vet. And while checking out his beak in the book I came across the section on how loving they are. He and I have had a great time giving kisses and pets (and I thought I was going to get his mean side because I had to catch him with a towel).

The book wasn’t for me, I sent it to a friend who had just purchased a Sun Conure so he’d have a companion. He found the book very helpful, especially when it came to feeding tips. He was very glad to have this book!

We have two conures in Panama, so I gave this book to the girlfriend for her birthday. She's delighted that so much information on these cool little birds is available in one book. Easy, entertaining reading, and covers about anything you would want to know.

I recently acquired two conures and wanted to know about their behaviours. This book taught me to recognize some body languages, noises, and what they like to do. It also had an extensive list of dangers to your conure along with a list of good things for them. Good book!

The book provides good basic information about keeping conures. If you are already into conures, there is not much new to learn. However I can't support some information like clipping a bird's wings for whatever reason (except if it's medically necessary)
