Once you find a library that is compatible it works a treat
Struggled to get it going initially with an ESP32-C3 mini, since the AdaFruit and ElectricCat libraries didn't work. The FastIMU library did provide a solution and it identied the sensor as an ICM20689. I'm now reading data at 200Hz with 500us to spare and logging to SD card. I bought 3 more and these are MPU6050 devices, differently silk-screened boards with a slight difference in colour. Work OK from what testing I've done so far.

Cheap for 3!
These modules are easy to hook up and work fine. They give accurate readings for what I needed. Good little pack. Cheap!

Faulty
After leaving a bad review and starting return I decided to try one last thing and this might help you. Don't use the adfruit library use the Electronic cats mpu6050 after changing they work as intended

Decent IMU
Works with many mpu6050 libraries. Not good for sudden high g force movements but for smaller movements it is perfect. Helps to use some kalman filtering.
