I was not certain from other reviews and pictures, but suspected I could use all or just 1 or 2 of the handle sections to get the height of handle I wanted, and I could. If you use just the one, the top of it is 16 inches from the floor. Adding a 2nd moves to to 27 inches and with all 3, it will be 38 inches. Each handle section is 15 inches long, but the end of one fits 4 inches inside of the one below it, making for a long and more steady connection. Each locks into the next with one of those push-in-the-buttons locks. You can depress the buttons to take the sections back apart if you want to remove a section. The button lock just sits inside the tube and is not fastened, so be careful not to let it fall out of position. The handle fit a bit loosely into the seection of the pan it goes into so I wrapped electrical or plastic tab around the tube a couple of times and that snugged it up. This was not needed for it to work ok, I just liked that it felt more steady and firm. The pan sits evenly on the floor, with the handle standing steady and upright while unattended. It came in a firm box, with the handles and the pan also wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap to protect them from scratches. There is also a little plastic piece that will fit around the handle sections to hold a broom if you want. I just used it to hold together the 2 pieces of handle sections I am not using and stuck them back into the plastic tube bag they came in so they stay nice in the garage where I put them. It is actually nice looking for a dust pan, and feels sturdy enough for normal house use or outside as a help in scooping up leaves. I got it for outside, but I like it so well, I decided to use it inside. It would take more room to store it since it could not hang flat against the wall, but may be worth the bother for that in exchange for not having to bend down to the floor and hold one of the old-style dust pans. If they make one where the handle works like this one, in sections that can be changed, but can also fold to a position allowing that, it would be great. I did just get this and quickly put it together, barely using it to try it, but if I find any problems after I use it a bit, I will come back and modify my review since I use reviews to decide what to buy and appreciate detailed and honest reviews others leave. So far, I definitely recommend this item, and after a few months of using it in the house, I am now ordering one for the garage/shop and one for helping to scoop up leaves outdoors. I think I may put a thin strip of rubber along the back edge of the ones for house and garage so they tilt forward just the slightest bit to make it easier to sweep dirt and debris into them. They sit still on the floor just fine, but I am thinking this would make it even easier to get the last bit of dust swept into the pan without me having to hold it tilted. Less bending is a good thing for me and I am so happy I found this pan

It has a very sharp/thin edge that allows dirt and debris to sweep up very nicely. I have had mine for about 2 months now, so I have had plenty of time to test it out. It's very sturdy, lightweight, thin and since I have slipped disks in my back, it makes cleaning up easier for me because I don't have to bend over or squat when sweeping. While I am giving it 5 stars for being easy to use, it's not the most storage friendly. I don't have a storage closet at my current home for cleaning supplies, but other than that it's perfect.

My only complaint is that it has a little bit of a flimsy feel, but hey - it's lasted and it does the job!

It works great. I believe it will last me a long time. Unlike the plastic once I've had in the past.

I love this dustpan! It's not cheap & flimsy, it's strong, flat, & large! Where has this been all my life? forget those little plastic ones from the store, THIS is the dustpan of dustpans! It's nice & flat without any kind of rubber thing on the end that's going to bend, warp, or fall off eventually, it can hold whatever you can sweep into it without bending or breaking.

This is a great dustpan with handle. Good height on handle for me and I'm 5'6". It's very sturdy and easy to use, I have used it outdoors a lot-sweeping up leaves on patio etc. I'm thinking of getting a second one and keep one inside and one outside in the shed. Good quality for the price.

Took a bit for me to figure out how to get it working right. Sounds silly for a dust pan but i have to tip mine up just a bit to scoop. Otherwise it goes under.

Great, doesn’t lay completely flat but that can be easily fixed with a mallet
