Legal HID look - HB2 replacement in 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage DE
My sister-in-law is a young, new driver who is not yet comfortable driving in the dark. She often rides with us places and loves the look and vision provided by the factory HID headlights in my S.O.'s crossover. Her 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage DE has reflector style headlamp housings so a HID upgrade would be illegal and dangerous. HIDs pattern very poorly in reflector housings and shine more light into oncoming drivers than down the road. With no aftermarket projector style headlamp fixtures available for her car, better bulbs was the only available option. To mimic the HID look the choices are basically this and the Silver Star line. I have used most of the Silvers in the past and was disappointed in the very short bulb life. I selected these bulbs because I currently have had Phillips bulbs in my car for ? years (maybe 10?) and have been pleased with the results. This 9003 was selected as an HB2 replacement, and fit properly once I was able to figure it out. I was glad I did this in a garage because even using the owners manual it took me a LONG TIME to figure out removal of the old bulbs. When replaced, these bulbs cast a noticeably whiter, brighter light than the stock lights, and seemed to increase viewing distance. The bulbs patterned nicely as they are the same size and shape as stock, and did not annoy me meeting her on the highway. If you want to legally upgrade your stock look, or see a little better at night, give these a try. If the super white light is less important and you just want max range for rural driving, look into the Philips 9003 X-tremeVision Upgrade Headlight Bulb. Now that I just realized how old my headlights are I think I am going to buy a set and change them before they start to go.

I can see everything at night now
I can see everything at night now. The low beams are good and the high beams are so bright, i can see a full suburb block down the street and (as seen in the picture) the high beams are so bright, i can turn them on during the day and see them illuminate objects as well. My old bulbs could never. I'm super pleased with these head light bulbs and would definitely buy them again.

Nice bright light
I bought two sets for my 2014 Toyota Tundra, and 2018 Toyota Yaris (they take the same bulb). As you can see in the picture, the Philips bulb is a whiter light than stock, which is what I prefer. I'm not convinced on LED upgrades yet, so these seem to be a decent middle ground for now. I'm switching to the Philips from the Sylvan!a ZXE since the price increased on those over $20.00 in a couple years. I'll go stock before paying over $50.00 for light bulbs. Like the competitor brand, the Philips' claims greatly reduced lifespan due to higher output. I got over two years from the other brand, so I'm hopeful these will last for a couple years. For now, the color looks much better than stock. Just don't have unrealistic expectations. They are a notch above stock, but not as good as LED's from the factory IMO. Still a nice bulb if you're on the fence of LED upgrades.

Fits my daughter's CRV
Fits my daughter's CRV. Unbelievably, both the original headlight low beams on the car blew at once. I thought there was something worse wrong with her auto headlights. The old high beams and daytime running lights were working. Found out that a 2013 Honda uses the High beams to generate DRLs not the low beams. I immediately ordered these 60% stronger lights as the car always had terribly low beams. These are noticeably better at night. I hope they last a long time. I know when you increase the brightness, the bulbs won't last as long... Thankfully they were super easy to change on the CRV.

Not long lasting, but performed ok.
Decently bright (not noticeably but worked well) went 11 months, then had one go out.

Replaced some old silverstars that were burned out on a 2012 Yaris with these. Its pretty much what you expect, oem fit 9003 bulbs. The only difference is they look more white compared to the old bulbs which is nice. It gives the car slightly more of an led look without having leds. All functions work properly, drl, low beam and high beam. Phillips is a good brand so I’m not concerned about longevity but I will update the review if they burn out fast. If you’re comparing these to similarly priced leds on amazon, know that while they might be brighter, you risk having quality and fitment issues, speaking from experience. I bought a set of leds off amazon for another car and while they fit fine, I lost the drl function and the high beams were on full-time as low beams. It’s probably different from car to car, just make sure it mentions that the drl function is supported. Another thing is that many of these cheaper led lights will say ‘offroad use only’ or something along those lines meaning they aren’t street legal. Now, I doubt you would get pulled over for this unless they’re really blue or obnoxiously bright but it’s something to keep in mind. Lastly, the biggest thing people have against led bulbs in reflector housings is the messed up beam pattern. I feel like this is overly exaggerated however, and if quality bulbs are aimed correctly, they could work just fine without being blinding. After having some bad experiences with a few led headlights, I’ve decided to stick to some higher quality halogens and I’m pretty happy with them so far.
