🧲 Weld smarter, not harder — the magnetic edge your toolkit deserves!
The Strong Hand Tools AGK320 Hole Plug Magnet is a compact, hands-free welding accessory featuring a pivoting magnetic V-pad base and a spring-loaded arm. Its thick copper pad dissipates heat effectively, preventing weld sticking and protecting the tool. With a powerful 35-pound magnetic pull and a 5.5-inch length, it enables precise, clean hole welds on curved steel panels, saving time and reducing panel distortion.

Good tool at a good price
Solid product. Performs excellently. The magnetic feet are almost too strong, so it holds in place well. Excellent addition to your welding tool kit.

Where has this been my whole life?!?
I bought the standard version and I’m glad I did. The magnets are very strong and more than ample for anything I’ll need this for. I put this to work filling five holes in a trailer fender. I’d estimate 18GA steel. It worked amazing. No more holding a paddle or using a penny to weld up small holes. This will get a lot of use and I’m super happy with this. Frustrated at myself I didn’t buy this sooner! Haha.

Wow! I wished I had purchased this years ago!
I don’t write a lot of reviews for Amazon, but this magnetic hole plug magnet is simply amazing. I’ve Stick, Mig and Tig welded for years and finally purchased this because I heard it was worth while. Wow! I can’t believe I have gone without using this for years. The copper backing pad does 3 things. First, it provides a backing material to help weld holes and gaps- so much nicer that trying to weld thin sheet metal gaps without- prevents burn through on edges and gaps. Second, the copper provides a conductive area to assist in continuity of welding gaps. When using a gas mig, it doesn’t splatter, spit or jump. It joins the edges seamlessly. I was joining gaps of 1/8” that look amazing with this tool. Third, the copper backing provides a surface area to keep the weld beads from over shooting which helps reduce grinding and clean up. I am shocked at how great this tool is and how I should have bought it years ago. I’m replacing the floor pans on my 1966 Mustang and there is a huge amount of welding, gaps to fill and grinding. I had to share. Really, this is worth the money no doubt.

Decent tool.
Decent tool, but magnet is weak IMO. Utilizing and welding holes on a Willy’s flat fender (straight and flat panel), the magnet would still fail at times. While I don’t hate this tool, I wouldn’t buy again.

Where have you been most of my career
Wish I knew about this many years ago. Great for fixing rust spots

Best and most versitile of the copper weld backers
Of the four different types of copper weld backers I bought, this is my favorite. The magnets are strong, and the mechanism allows them to fit surfaces at different heights and angles. The size and shape of the copper plate allows it to fit into smaller spaces than the large flat plates, yet is large enough to do the job. The spring steel support allows me to adjust the pressure. The low price makes it a best buy, in my opinion. I've been using it to help me plug burn-through holes when working on the floor pan of my car (I'm not a very good welder), and it has been a godsend.

Great quality tool. I recommend it.
Haven't used this model yet but I have other models very similar and they worked very well. This device should relieve me of holding a copper paddel in one hand (steady over the hole which is very difficult) and then putting a weld in the hole. Can't wait to try this one out, likely on my next project. Great quality tool.
